Pflu to Weber

I sure hope the griz fans give Pflu a warm welcome back the first time. Kramer got a friendly welcome back from the Cat fans. Kramer and Pflu were both fall guys and got the shaft. The only difference is Kramer was a good coach, Pflu was a GREAT coach.
Griz fans show him the respect he deserves.

Doubt I'll be there for a game when he comes back, but I'd give him a standing ovation.

Problem is he loses a year transferring within same classification and the other being he would have to get released from scholarship (i assume its still being honored) and get permission to transfer within the same conference. I believe the only time these don't come into play is in the case of a grad student transferring to a school that doesn't offer the same masters degree he/she is pursuing.

He was dismissed from the team (not on the roster) and not enrolled at um right now, so he may be able to transfer without having to sit out

NCAA rules require sitting out for football transfers based on historic evidence that it takes 1 year for a student to adjust academically. There are exceptions to the transfer rules for some NCAA sports, but not football, (i believe baseball and hockey also have 1 yr requirement).

Although suspended from the team the regents have stated jj is to be afforded due process and unless convicted or jj ends the contract himself, they will continue to honor the financial assistance contract.

So he hasn't been a member of the um football team since july, so by august he should have completed his off year.

Or are you saying that he is still on scholarship under the FB team?

Pflu a Weeb? Well I am glad he got a job. I hope he lingers there long enough for UM to pick him up as a head coach in a year or two. I will give the guy an ovation when he enters WaGriz, but then, its the NEZ treatment for the duration of the game. Cats is Cats man! He would expect nothing less.

The year off would be considered his redshirt and has nothing to do with transfering. Transfer rules for football require a student athlete to be enrolled at the "new" institution for a year before being cleared to play.

Perhaps AD Haslem has been given different direction from the president, but I can't see the U yanking his scholarship unless convicted based on the following conversation with BOR Mcrea.

You know it. Deep down Pflu will be digging the North End Zone treatment we will serve him! :thumb:

Three thoughts:

1. Those int KNOW say JJ was 100 percent committed to coming back to the Griz, but NOW in the middle of his trial, he's headed to Weber??????? LMAO. Maybe some Cat posters are right when they call this place "As the Griz Turn".

2. CONGRATS to Robin, he deserves the opportunity. Weber would not have hired him if Robin was nothing short of a standup human being!

3. i HATE that he's going to be coaching against the Griz. He will have Weber as a high-scoring team, no doubt in my mind.

Good for Pflu. One more example of how effd up UM is in its decision making currently. Surely Weber found Pflu to be qualified. He'll probably be their head coach before too long.

I think Weber State should be thankful that Rosenbach jerked them around.
Weber State ended up with a much better coach as it turned out. I wish Robin well, and am happy for him.

This really does suck for GRIZ fans though.

I KNOW!!!... how will we ever defend against those 3-quarterbacks-on-the-field-at-one-time, 18 bubblescreens-a-game, school record-three-and-out offenses that he put on the field for us... At least if he's doing the QB recruiting for Weeb's, all we have to do is put 6'2" defensive linemen on the field to block their vision and play our safeties ten yards from the line of scrimmage. I'm shakin' in my boots already at the thought!!! :?

For those fans that are going to give Pflu a standing O when he walks on the field followed by the NEZ treatment (which is rapidly becoming a memory like the old BB ZOO) has something changed in how OC coaches? Are they on the field now? (except of course at Montana where we have one on the field and in the booth)
