Pflu to Weber

I think it just might be a good gig for him. But I do know this for certain, the first time he comes out on the field in purple with the weebs, this one is going to give him an earful so that he can experience what the others face from the NEZ :thumb:

Or he will get a standing ovation.

This...

Happy for RP...very sad for U of M...

this sucks the big one, Weber will be a powerhouse in 3-4 years. this is almost worse than the day he got fired. Gawd i wish RE would drive into the river...

I can see it now: JJ acquitted, transfers to Weber to play for the coach who stood by him.

What a story line! I don't think it would be out of the question, but it would be up to JJ to ponder, if possible. The plot thickens!

Fack it.

Pflu didn't make the playoffs with a loaded roster in Montana his first year.
Well have a better head coach then Pflu after next year. :thumb:

50 bucks Griz beat Weber in '13
Anyone?

Ironic...a state university, a highly conservative place in one of the most socially conservative states hires a guy fired from a mostly liberal university in a generally socially moderate state that was "fired" by a weak President but one that is well connected " to liberal politicians. Wow...what's next? Putin for Pope?

Interesting point.

Problem is he loses a year transferring within same classification and the other being he would have to get released from scholarship (i assume its still being honored) and get permission to transfer within the same conference. I believe the only time these don't come into play is in the case of a grad student transferring to a school that doesn't offer the same masters degree he/she is pursuing.

He was dismissed from the team (not on the roster) and not enrolled at um right now, so he may be able to transfer without having to sit out

BDiz---- was trying to play out the JJ transfer to Weber too, and if you are right that he would end up with just one year of eligibility, wonder if he would run in to the rule that you have to have two years of eligibility left to transfer. I know this applies to a "drop down", not sure if it does to a lateral transfer.

It's kind of a mind-bender to even think of Pflu and JJ in purple, and probably spanking us.

Genius?

He was a good coach that ran a pretty good offense but............ :bs:

That just can't be!!! According to TokyoGriz, the firing of Robin Pflugrad absolutely and utterly destroyed his life, and he had no chance of ever getting a job in his career field again...his career was destroyed...he was going to be stocking shelves at the Shopko for the rest of his life...

ok...maybe Tokyo didn't say the LAST one...

If this is true good luck to Robin and his family. Lets keep our perspective and remember real people are invovled in these matters.

I did not see Tokyo's comments, but for a time, it did destory RP's life and for what. He was doing a great job, but Mr Pflugrad made less than thought out comments about JJ that I believe cost hime to lose his job without explanation except a statement of wanting to change leadership direction from RE. OK, change of leadership from what? UM had just made it to the semi finals and Mr Pflugrad was awarded Big Sky Coach of the Year. He had also recently been the first coach in years to not allow the hazing of freshmen by upper classmen-note something that is still happening on other campuses in Montana. Mr. Pflugrad had also implemented several forms of education with plans for more. The education included nutrition, importance of academics, health and responsibility with regard to alcohol and other substances and maybe most importantly at the time education on the negative affects of how women are abused by young men in a variety of areas. Mr Pflugrad was being proactive, but his career still came to an abrupt end.
Now wouldn't that have destroyed just about anyone. Doing everything right and still get fired by a kneejerking provost that has no business being a CEO.

Great for Robin and his family, Weber will be the winner for extending this offer to Robin.

Weber 1 Royce Engstom and Pat Williams O

Pflu was a victim of circumstance, plain and simple. Wrong place-wrong time. I'm not arguing that point. But it obviously didn't "destroy" his career, as Tokyo blathered on about for weeks and weeks. This shit happens all the time in their industry, it isn't the first time Pflu has lost a job, and it won't be the last time he loses a job. It's the nature of the industry...and it's also a good-old boy's network where the good ones (and many times even the crappy ones) continually find jobs.

I will state one last time, I thought Robin Pflugrad was the best coach we have had since Don Reed!

Good luck Robin, we miss the hell out of you already!

Now back to Micky dee and the Engstrom/Williams mess....................Oh well, we need to live a bit longer to see this play out (as it will) and we shall return in spite of the slugs mentioned above!
