Yes, I didn't like the new coach firing 6 players, whom he hadn't met, over zoom, in the first week or so. 4 from Montana. 1 a Native American (who apparently shot 3-3 from three in the scrimmage, according to someone's post). A Glendive woman went to UC-Chattanooga and started and was a top reserve, and was a big rebounder for them. The new coach didn't bring in much for new recruiting in his first year, except a former LG still in town came back and was one of the best players. One of those new recruits who didn't play last year much, has already left. Now, the new team in its second year, which I heard had good talent, has lost a scrimmage to Western. It just didn't seem necessary to have a massacre of 6 players, including 4 Montanans, in that situation. The move was unprecedented in college basketball, to my knowledge. And then, in his first year, he didn't produce much, other than a slightly better record and another first round exit from the conference tourney. I hope the team does well, but I will never believe his 6-player firing over zoom was necessary or a good idea, nor will I ever support the guy.
