What I’m saying is that forcing a new DC is going to cause more problems than fixes and likely set us back even further than simply starting over entirely. Both of us are speculating but I at least have a basis for my theory: such metteling did not work with TG. What makes you think it will work this time? The only assurance I can think of is if there was a known DC willing to adopt Stitt’s unique approach. But you’re advocating to just fire the DC and figure it out later. That sounds worse to me and worse than a restart

Starting over completely on both sides of the ball is infinitely worse in my opinion than one side of the ball (the side that's failing). I mean, what's the worst that could happen? A new guy comes in here and his defense gives up 500 yards and 30 points a game? Why throw the baby out with the bath water? Much like TG did in Bozoland, a new guy would be taking over a situation where there's almost nowhere to go but UP.

Why do you think a new coach is "starting over"? It was wasn't from Read to Dennehy? From Dennehy to Glenn. From Glenn to Hauck. From Hauck to Pflugrad. From Pflu to Delaney. While I don't know why those transitions went well, or at least didn't take more than a season, I do note that each was a transition to a coach with significant connections to Griz Nation. To me, with a strong program with good tradition, the transition should never been "starting over". If Haslam hired Stitt to start over, then Haslam made a huge mistake and doesn't understand football or Griz Nation.

Starting over as in Stitt's system differs dramatically from Dennehy's and required a complete overhaul of the roster....

I don't agree. Pflu's system was not unlike Stitt's and he adapted with the personnel on board. And Delaney adapted back. I also disagree that anyone's system requires a complete overhaul of the roster. And, the defense certainly doesn't require a complete overhaul of the roster.

Back to O. BG did fairly well at QB. But other QB's may be better. Running backs. Nope. O-lineman. Not much. 4 of the 5 starters this year are not Stitt recruits. Receivers. Just need more good receivers. H-backs. Nope.

Stitt may have overhauled the personnel, but it wasn't because none of them could adapt to his system.

No, it can get worse—that’s the whole point. This is Stitt’s guy. They have a history and at least can be in the same room together. If the AD forces him to get someone new, that’s not guaranteed and could set us back another year/term. I don’t think good DCs that can mesh with Stitt’s personality, scheme, etc, grow on trees. That’s why I think if you start down that road you should have a name or two in mind
I think they’re a package deal
Sounds like a pretty serious weakness for a HC. Then there's STs....

He was brought here to do what he was doing, only with greater success due to the increase in resources, as well as the decrease in restrictions. For instance, he would no longer have to choose his skill players from a tiny pool of magna/cum laude high school dudes who also wanted to be engineers and play college ball with little to no reward.

Believing that he would have at least moderate early success here wasn't a stretch. But it certainly seems like the loud minority will not be allowing much more time to figure out what could be.

Any retarded "fan" who walks onto his property, where he dwells with his family sleeping inside, and puts a sign in his yard, is probably also someone who is a big-time douche in real-life. Someone most of us would probably punch in the throat as soon as look at.

Not saying I know how this turns out. Just that how you go about your business is sometimes more important than what you're actually doing. Really f*ck this up, and see what you're attracting with the pittance you have to offer (comparatively). Thank God Kent is in charge, and not all the blowhards who believe they know better.

What's Stitt's personality? Just curious about your comment. Do you know him?

So BH wouldn’t need any fullbacks? TE’s? Does he need 30 WR?

People seem to conveniently forget the poor first year Pflu had, and how e-Griz was alive with "fire Pflu" posts.
