One play from undefeated, well 10-1 at least

The positive prospects for the future and sitting undefeated thus far in 2017 should not allow mental masterbation to cause dilution of the poor performances of the Coaching and players in 2016.
Thanks for the thread....however listing wishlists of how things could have been better or different is too little too late. I would rather not bring up 2016 and chalk it up to growing pains of a new staff. Thanks for the attempt to give cratique to give a positive spin on the program.
Maybe last year could be used as motivation to not allowing that outcome to repeat.
I support Stitt to be given more time to succeed. I look forward to players stepping up and playing to their potential.
Sad to say...2016 was a train wreck better to leave this wound alone.

First it was 8-3 now it's 10-1?
You guys are what you are, a 6-5 team that got run over by the Cats. If you guys had even made the playoffs, you would have been smoked by San Diego.

Obviously if we were 10-0 going into the Cat game, we would've steamed rolled them. Got a number 1 seed, and met JMU in the semfinals. Very obvious to me.

With the talent Montana has, there shouldn't have even been a scenario where the Griz were close in most of these games. Northern Colorado and Montana State should have been cakewalks. It takes poor coaching with the talent you have in order to go 6-5.

Where is all this talent we allegedly have?

Last year we had Kidder, Buss and Johnson. After that we do not have one single player that would start on another team in the Big Sky. Simms would be the next man up but I believe him to be playing out of position. You have definitely been watching a different team than most of us have because seeing Montana play down to teams like Idaho St, Montana St and Northern Colorado is unacceptable. If we had any talent we could have out athleted those poor teams instead we either lost or were in a barn burner.

Last years team was a few plays closer to being 3-8 than undefeated. If you don't like a daily dose of reality, maybe Griz football isn't for you.
The UM margins in their six wins were: 10, 6, 23, 60, 61, and 18. For your daily dose of reality which three would have been lost with one play changing? Daily dose of reality answer - one.
I don't know majic, that sac state game was nip and tuck the whole way...

Football is deffenetly a game of momentum.

Of course you'll expect the usual cynical feedback on this perspective from 75 and the other darksiders, but I totally agree with you. Anyone with 1/4 of a brain understands this. All others argue against it!

Oh, look! A warrior of the light! :silly:

Enjoy your circle jerk.

The problem of course with this post is that there are very few people, other than the few who have undergone certain procedures associated with a lobotomy, that have only 1/4 of a brain. Most have a full brain although the associated IQ may be different. That sort of eliminates most people understanding Alabama's contention that we were only a few plays away from a 10-1 season. My condolences on your surgery Rock.

In Alabama do they believe that hamburgers might have been tenderloins if they just hadn't suffered a play or two at the hands of a meat grinder?

Go back to the 78 threads bashing Stitt, the players, the recruiting, etc.,etc. There's plenty of THEM to post your negative bullshit on.

Last year the offense had a fragile ego, that began with Brady and emanated from there. After the CP game and his miscues Brady played scared much of the time. If the team took off early the offense rolled. With early adversity it sputtered. The talent was there, the leadership on the field was hit and miss.

That's quite a generalization. Did you miss the MSU game where we scored so easily on the first play than did very little else? EWU game, we score first; do very little after that. St. Francis game, we do not score a TD in the first half and are down by 15; score 5 TDs in the second half.

I would rather read the realistic non self aggrandizing posts than the over promoted, wising we were better pie in the sky crap that runs all over this board. Hoping the OL is better every year gets us 3-5 in conference so its time people start being more realistic instead of praying for improvement that isn't there and isn't coming anytime soon.

There are 78 threads bashing Stitt because that is where the problem lies.

Fine, then apply to be the AD and fix the problem. Otherwise, go back to the other 78 threads and leave this one alone, FFS.
