Fire Delaney? How bout BAN GreenacresGriz for stupidity. The Griz are 6-2. Coulda won it but because of ONE Stupid penalty, they lost today and you want MD gone? Wow. Yes, the play calling is dry but wtf do you expect. The Griz just played a damn good team and only lost by 5. Should I point out the stupid penalty again that costed them the game?
Double post...

I may be out of the loop, but where is this "Engstrom is plotting to dismantle the football program" talk coming from?

Calling for the head coach's head after a horrible loss is a fairly typical, drunk, rage-induced reaction. However, for how hard these kids work, I do think they deserve better than the plain-vanilla, predictable, even-I-who-never-played-the-game-could -see-it-coming, boring-assed, sophomoric, offense we have seen this season.

That said, great attempt at a comeback, Griz! And hat's off to Adams (who I must say, should seek the help of of a professional about his appearance sooner, rather than later) and EWU for a great game.
I've been calling for it since about 30 seconds after he was hired. Has nothing to do with his most recent stupidity.
Ha! It took you 30 seconds. La who oo zer!

Fire Delaney? Maybe replace the back end of your defense and fire the OL coach, but fire Delaney? Come on
Of course you want him to stay...I'd like the scats to re hire Earle....

Oh no we lost to the #3 team in the nation....fire the coach that has kept this program together through the hardest thing um ever seen. Were only 6-2 and moat likely going to the playoffs. Ahhhhhhh man most of you are dip shits and its funny when fans whine about play calling when they know nothing about either side of the ball. Then you say we need a new coach this is the 3rd new philosophy in 5 yrs. Wait so you want 4 out of 6 years. Oh ya btw the players love coach maybe yall should check some facts before you post your idiotic, smear campaigns on a fan board. If your not a fan QTFO

Engstrom is one of the arrogant academic nerds that resent the attention and money that football brings to the University. He wants to knock football down a few notches so it is just another program at the U.

His firing of Pflugrad and O’Day and subsequent hiring of nice old grandpa Delaney to coach the Griz are achieving his objective.
:(

Yes...because no competent coach could've kept things together. He is the only person on earth who could've accomplished that...

There was quite a few opportunities lost, yes. But with what they have done against CP last weekend and EWU this weekend it is all fixable. That's not the word I'm looking for but if you wanna give on this team, go right ahead. It don't make a shit to me. The Griz coulda put the #3 team in the nation away and were down, what, 42-17 at one point. They adjusted but were about 20 seconds shy of a win even with a TD called back. There is no way in hell that I'm on the "Get rid of Delaney" wagon. No way. The calling needs to be mixed up more but maybe thats the scheme of the season. Idk. If there is limited film on what they do when they have to start putting points up (I'd rather see a blow out every week) how is anyone one gonna stop them?

Yeah right, how much did you drink at the game today. It was not only because of one penalty that cost the Griz the game. The predictable play calling and poor execution factored in also. If the one penalty alone cost them the game then so did all the fans who bailed out on the team too. In other words, it was a lot of factors and not just one reason, not even the play calling was the sole reason they lost. How about the fumble that gave EWU 7 points...or the missed FG. And it sounds like you may be blaming the loss on one Griz player, you know the one who got the penalty. Talk about stupid...

I just hope our coaches take a hard look at what worked...

3 runs up the middle over and f***[*] over = improbable quarter final appearance...

Letting Johnson loose in a hurry up mode = National Title capable team

We almost came back...
20-0 in the fourth quarter!

We need play like we did in the fourth quarter from here in out

Man this one stings but you can't blame this one on the guys....it's 100% coaching and 100% fixable :thumb:

This. Throw the ball. It works. Ask Cal Poly. Lets establish the pass first instead of the run. It works.

That must be why the won the 4th quarter 20-0?

I think it is the philosophy of this coaching staff that needs adjusting. Being stubborn can be a great attribute, there are times when it becomes a liability. Trying to pound the rock with light backs when it is obviously not working is just saying that you are too prideful to admit what you thought would work is not. Having flexability is important. It seems obvious to me that the play callers need to realize that and ADAPT to the game, rather than beat thier heads against the wall doing things that clearly don't work.

Hey genius, Engstrom created the crap storm by firing our competent head coach (Pflugrad) and athletic director (O'Day), and then hired grandpa Delaney to manage the sh*t storm he caused, thus, bringing the football program down a few notches.

Griz would now be undefeated if Pflugrad and O'Day had been allowed to remain, and Griz would not have suffered through their worst season in decades last year.

Its all water under the bridge now, but place the blame in the right place.

I give Mick Delaney full credit for coming out of retirement on a seconds notice to become head coach in the middle of spring practice for a team that was not only losing its coach but also its quarterback and the athletic director who cared deeply about his student athletes. Not only that, but the defensive coordinator had bailed, the offensive coordinator had bailed and new coaches coming onto the staff had just watched the guy who hired them suddenly fired.
If someone on the street told me that story about a team I didn't follow, I think the ending I expected would be much worse than the situation the Griz are in.
That said, it's time to part ways while Mick is still respected and appreciated.
Calling a guy in a rush to replace the person you needlessly and wrongfully fired is no way to build a program.

I'm officially in. I was wanting to give him a chance longer then most people but I've finnaly reached my breaking point. It really wasn't anyone thing he did today. Alot of it is his assistants. Some if the things they choose to do are not good. The play calling. Why are we still playing a soft coverage with our corners. They had a 3rd and 3 conversion where the cb was 5 yrds of the line. I know it's speculation but I find it very hard to beleive Bobby would have lost a single game with this team. That's including the NC. I think the biggest problem is the intensity. It's not there for all 4 quarters. I really hope UM is looking at all their options and scouring the country for something new

Good post! My girlfriend isn't the biggest football fan but she does Love Griz football and she was even asking me, "Why do they keep running it when it's not working?" I had no answer. Stubbornness can really damage things. Especially when it's not working!! Mix it up in the playoffs and the Grizzlies are gonna shine!
