Offensive Coaching Changes

Alaska Griz said:
I think these changes are more significant than some realize. Talking to Pease, I think he has a better understanding of how to implement his offense and recognize matchups and playcall accordingly. Instead of a bunch of discord amongst team and staff, there has been alot of identifying shortcomings so far this offseason, imo, as there should be after a disappointing season. I personally have alot more confidence in Pease as OC than I did Tim, and I think there will be a higher premium placed on oline and TE execution.

I’ve thought all along why was TR the OC over BP. Pease has far more experience and a far better track record. Minus his one blemish in Florida, which some may argue was not all on him, I think he’s been far more successful then Rosey.

These are not the changes I was hoping to see on this side of the ball.

Calm down? :coffee:

Probably time to move on from the critical thinking. Nothing you say mattters. At this point we all know your opinion. It is what it is, and its time to accept and move forward. Next year, if you're right, you can complain again - and maybe see the type of changes you desire. Im an optomist every year, and expect great results.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if things people post on the internet mattered or not. Now I know. Keep being optomistic.

griz nation should probably brace for a rough year of r two to get all these changes implemented and tuned up. Then we’ll see f they lead to having a team that can compete with the upper echelon….. SDSU, MSU, NDSU, etc. lol

Mississippi State is not in the FCS, so not really in the upper echelon as far as we are concerned

Its obvious he meant Missouri St. everyone knows how the MVC is the cream of the crop.

In the Choat/Vigen era, MSU is 1-5 against NDSU/SDSU with an average scoring margin of -19.8 points.

The Cats are definitely in the same echelon as the Dakota schools 🤦‍♂️.

Mic drop.

i personally think both the offensive and defensive changes are excellent and there is no question that things will be different and for the better. For so many of you always negative nellies out there, Haslam could bring in Nick Saban or Kirby Smart as HC and one of them would bring their entire staff with them. That still would not be good enough. I would take our coaching staff over the Cats staff in a heartbeat--that will get some more of you always negative "fans" stirred up even more

Imagine Bobbys team with a Don Read like offense. Slim chance but I'm optimistic. We will be looking a a strong national championship run if it happens. I know the nay sayers say Read's air raid offense will lead to a winless season but I hope they try.

This is a legit website run by Alabama fans. They have a Twitter page with plenty of anti nick propaganda.

Yeah, I mean who wants back to back semifinal appearances and an 3-1 record against our in-state rival anyway, amirite?

It's where this fan base is right now. Many still believe the Griz are Big Bro in the state. They really, really believe it.

That would be a role reversal of epic proportions. I just looked at the stats and since Choate came in and implemented the championship culture and recipe including "Run the ball and stop the run", for which Vigen came in and even took up another notch..... The Cats AVERAGE 306 yards rushing vs the griz, and the griz AVERAGE.......... 87 yards rushing vs the Cats. That is staggering.

Oh, and nobody wants to hear about your healthy johnson, AGAIN. lol

Do you think the Chiefs would have won the Super Bowl if Mahomes had not played the second half?

Ya, I supppose you are tired of hearing the 49ers fans, and players, moan about their very good qb getting hurt early in the game. I suppose you think that didn't impact the game?

My view is that Big Bro discussion is often a sign that the participants don't understand the game of football. Especially that term.

Imagine a day goes by without Mafia bitching and moaning about the offense. But I do agree, NDSU and SDSU run a pretty mean Air Read offense. #offenseofchampions

I believe people are just being lazy when they suggest that the move from Rosie to Pease won't mean changes.

Agree 100%. With Bobby literally quoting “wholesale” changes I think we will see a pretty legit makeover. Maybe we will even run the ball on first down this time and throw it on 3rd and 8 instead 😂
