OC Change Can Work Wonders

1 Game in and Nebraska's offense has worked wonders, just by changing Dana Holgorson to OC.

He told the hbs to break more tackles and the WRs to block, then be rewarded.

Mission accomplished! Nebraska dominated WI in game 1 with the OC change.

Could Linehan make that kind of positive impact?

what's wrong with the griz offense other than strange qb decisions? seems like they were the toast of egriz until a couple games ago.

Getting away from running the ball to set up the pass has KILLED us.
You're right. That's because opposing d coordinators committed to stop our the GRIZ running game. Our OC hasn't countered effectively, if at all. In the last month, the GRIZ would occasionally find things that worked. Then, they went away from whatever was working. Why?

Why don't we commit to consistently get the ball in the hands of our playmakers? Our opponents certainly don't have a problem with going to their playmakers.

Pease is an upgrade from Rosenbach. Unfortunately, it's from a D to a C. That's just not good enough.

I personally haven't been a big fan of his scheme since last season, granted McDowell came in and it seemed he actually adapted his play calling to fit Cliffs strengths in order to succeed. However, that isn't the case this season, lots of awful decision making and plainly bad play calling.

Could not agree more. The personnel calls have been hot garbage lately. Why not use X more? The creativity is not good and plays to no one’s strengths. Really tough to watch.

McDowell was the sole reason. He made everyone better, including the D. He brought a swagger that is absent from this team.

Players make plays not the OC.

We don't have a QB
We need WRs that hang onto the ball.
We need OL that have a violent streak in them.

None of that is on Pease. I told you what would happen if AhYat didn't play.
Does Pease help recruit? Does the OC have no fault when the O struggles? I get the offense has issues, but the OC did zero on Saturday to help them find any success.

I think peace works within Bobby's constraints. Has he ever had a successful OC?
No

Pease is handcuffed all the time with personnel decisions, scheme and play calling. On defense we would notice it often. In practice Pease would name play calls that would take the defense apart and hauck would rein it in saying "that's not what we are about" or "that's not our identity".

Pease is the lifeblood of this team, last year and this season. He was the sole reason they even fielded a team last season. All the skill players were bailing and he kept most of them from leaving. If he ever got to take the shackles off and roll the offense would gel and things would look a lot different n the field than they do now. That not gonna happen because we have the ego controlling things and players hate it.

The OC simplified everything to help out the OL and players still failed to make plays. Everything was designed to be quick and simple and the QB didn't execute, the OL didn't execute and it was a failure.

If true, that explains a lot.
