As predicted, it didn't take long for the personal slams, the "pessemistic poster" rants, and the "bad fan" diatribes to surface. Of course, the point of the post was conveniently skirted in favor of slaying the messinger. ......
Aw, Pickle, this is so typical of your style.
You
are a pessimist, and worse, you're a pessimist with an agenda. You have made no bones about your animosity toward BH and his staff.
No one skirted anything, I guess I just take issue with blind acceptance of your judgement as to who is a thug and who isn't.

Some of you are actually embarrassing to the Griz fans who have the ability to separate right from wrong.
Like you? King Solomon.

It is hypocricy in thinking that it is cool when Bobby recruits a kid of questioneable character while accusing other schools of being thugs. .......
I have no problem with your premise and in fact agree that we should avoid the "thugs" and "recruits of questionable character"
I just have a hard time seeing you (whom I envision sitting on your chaise, out by the pool, sipping corona's and inspecting your prosthesis) as a credible judge of someone you don't know.
And you accuse others of lack of objectivity, tsk. tsk.

How weak it is to avoid the topic of the post, and to resort to 5th grade name calling. I am sure that the many high quality posters on this board can see through this shallowness of some of these posters.......
No one is avoiding anything, simply disagreeing with your quick characterization of kids you don't know.

Mania and Putter, you have gained my respect for your candid comments. You did not necesarily agree with my post, but you actually were able to discuss the points intelligently, something that some of the more "popular, good fans" can do only in their dreams.......
I'm sure they wait with bated breath for your approbation.

A google search on Coleman, will quickly prove that I am not "making up stuff". His problems with the law started in high school, causing many IA teams to back off him, including Michigan and Iowa, who were recruiting him hard. He then had three more incidents at Iowa State. Give him a second chance? O.K., just tell me how many chances we should give him......he's on #5 currently.
By your count. however, it's my contention that you haven't given him even 1 chance.
How nice to be such a self righteous, self appointed judge and jury.

I can not stand hypocrites. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.
I too can not stand hypocrites. Why such animosity towards the coaching staff?
I began my last post by pissing in the cornflakes of every coach since Don Read, and included Don in the process, Why? To make the point that coaches are human, they have shortcomings.
Good coaches attempt to cover their weaknesses with strengths.
BH & company may not be the best tacticians in the world (I certainly am not qualified to judge) but by most accounts, BH is building what many consider the greatest assemblage of talent in Griz history. Give the man his due. He is taking on the task of being coach, mother, father, prosecutor, defender, judge and jury for every member of his team. additionally, he has to balance the needs of his students, the requirements of several bureaucracies, and the demands of fans - for a lot less money than you make/made from your easy chair as prosthetics magnate and slum-lord.
I'll say this about Hauck - he ain't perfect, and he may not (yet) be a superior tactician (though we have seen signs of brilliance, IMHO) but the man definately has hair - he has shown a willingness to accept risk and accept responsibility for his choices.
For that, at least, he deserves some respect.
