Kind of makes Pflugrad's departure pretty explainable.

No one even knows what the investigation is about.

My guess is improper benefits. But the fact that the investigation is happening gives a lot of very feasible explanations. I am not saying that is what happened, but if a coach is fired without cause, and it comes to light that his program has been under the scrutiny of an investigation for several months, well I think we can say that might have had a part in the decision without being too radical. Its not too big of a leap.

Just think, if we were a big time program like Ohio St, USC, Miami, UNC or Florida this would be business as usual.

None of those schools have been involved in rape scandals, or their own school administration giving players the phone number of lawyers, and then marching them to that lawyer on a Sunday.

Man, you guys really are insiders if you know all that for sure.

Baller and NWF....we were in the presence of all this NCAA insider knowledge all this time. This would be a good time to admit that you know sh*t about those other schools, and their innumerable scandals. You may know what you know about whoever, who told you what they told you that they knew about the people that they used to know at UM, but you know exactly shiite about The U, OSU, USC, UF, or any others.

What does or doesn't go on at big time programs is pure speculation on your or anyone's part, beyond the people who are/were there.

It just gets old, people implying sh*t. Post something concrete or just do like your mama always told ya and stuff it.

Here is something concrete. The DoJ, the DoE, and the NCAA are all investigating the UM (and Missoula's DA office), to some degree. Some of us saw this coming for years.

What is your "concrete" information?

McRae noted that UM President Royce Engstrom was “instrumental in UM’s efforts … to reach an understanding with the NCAA that UM will make this information public at this time because of UM’s interest in openness and transparency.”

Good show, boys. Some might laugh rather heartily at the timing of this whole "release" and sudden interest in transparency. Too bad we couldn't have done this whole openness thing years ago rather than wait until the place had become a bad scene out of a Mad Max movie.

If you take Engstrom by his statement, he has no idea what the NCAA investigation is about, what it is focusing on specifically. How does this lead to cause for Pflu being removed from his position?

Good stuff boys.. I was having a shitty day but after reading this thread, I feel much better about myself today. Carry on.....

Wow, according to this site there are a lot bigger rape problems at other schools. Sorry just putting it in perspective....

http://campus-safety.findthedata.org/saved_search/College-Rape-Statistics" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Scroll right and filter on forced rape...

Kind of surprising that thug schools like Harvard and Stanford top the list. Oh look Gonzaga and ND made the list too.

Does it let you filter by rapes covered up? Cuz that seems to be the issue here.

My first thought is that with the Dept. of Education investigating UM partly for actions by members of the football team, the NCAA finally decided that they'd probably better take a look too, if for no other reason than to avoid looking like they just sat idly by in a case involving alleged sexual assaults by athletes, especially after the whole Penn St. thing. If the investigation reveals that Pflugrad didn't properly report incidents to his supervisor, then no big deal, he's already gone. But at least the NCAA can say they looked into it.
