What is "biggest understatement ever" for a $1,000 Alex.Sadly, it's in very short supply, particularly in government.
Agreed. And they did here. It was classified as a mitigated punishment. If a school reports, it’s supposed to mitigate the punishment. Supposed to.
Glad to see I’ve found my kinfolk then brother? That was dumb.
It’s a top FCS conference. One of the top 2. Many people are proud of that.who cares its a minor issue in a second rate fcs league.
Tell me you missed the point without telling me you missed the point.who cares its a minor issue in a second rate fcs league.
Still, the opportunity for the NCAA to set an example without having a fist fight because it was self-reported lent itself to dealing out a stiff penalty and saying it would have been a lot worse if we found it ourselves. Attempting to make an example of UND. Now the result is most likely second thoughts on self reporting until the NCAA actually starts real investigations of this violation. UND compliance department is a turd in the punch bowl right now with their fan base, even though they were doing their job. The guilty coach most likely has “ former“ in front of his title.Agreed. And they did here. It was classified as a mitigated punishment.

Sounds like you are getting ready to make excuses. Got a University in mind, hmm?I think you’d be hard pressed to find a university that hasn’t tampered in some way or fashion.
might be your only hopeSounds like you are getting ready to make excuses. Got a University in mind, hmm?
LOL Jealous much?Hey, UND, you’re gonna have to step up your cheating game if you wanna compete with that Fargo outfit. They were the masters of the cheating universe. Come on, guys, let’s step it up a notch. I mean “down.”
LOL Jealous much?
This is insane to punish them for that, in today's environment. How many posters on here and how many of our players in the last 2-3 years have we openly heard say they had offers from other places. . .and they were not even in the portal. Having said that, they should crack down extremely hard on every team in college football that is recruiting players and/or having conversations with players that are currently on teams. It is so easy for a player to sit back and let the phone ring, after they have a great year. Shoot, my nephew got a huge payday to go to another basketball team last year. . .and he barely played for them once he got there. He was not in the portal, they found him off another team. It happens all the time. Poor UND got made a small example of, but every SEC, BIG 10, BIG 12, ACC team should be penalized for most of their rosters.UND got caught tampering with a player not yet in the portal and is now on probation this year.
- One year of probation.
- A $25,000 fine.
- A one-week ban on recruiting communications for the football program during the January 2027 notification-of-transfer window.
- A 3% reduction in official paid visits in football during the 2026-27 academic year.
- Three one-week bans on football unofficial visits during the 2026-27 academic year.
- A one-year show-cause order for Stepps, during which any employing NCAA member school must restrict him from communicating with four-year transfer prospects during the entire January 2027 football notification-of-transfer window.
- A one-game suspension for Stepps during the 2026 football season.
Not at all.LOL Jealous much?
