NFL Griz on tonight

No cat players involved in a discussion about NFL players? What a surprise.

In fairness and as an objective observation, if you watched the Hall of Fame induction speeches on Saturday, as the cameras panned the dias where all of the Hall of Famers were seated, you noticed a Hall of Fame Bobcat player named Jan Stenerud seated there. I did not notice any Grizzly players there.

Since this thread is about the NFL Hall of Fame game, it seemed relevant so I just thought I'd mention it. :twocents:

Her 40 time wasn't eye-popping, but that Jan Brady was accurate as hell.

:lame: What great football historians we have here. ...I have yogurt in the back of my fridge older than these nimrods...ursa must be a minor...

I would take Jan Stenerud over Dan Carpenter, or even Chris Snyder, any day. Not trying to pick a fight, and not trying to give props to the Bobcats, but that dude was amazing.

Picking a Hall Of Famer is not much of a stretch, no matter where they went to school. :thumb:

Don't know what's more amazing: That he went to Montana State, or that Montana State used to give out Ski Jumping scholarships!

As I recall he was at MSU on a skiing scholarship as a jumper...spoke with him once on a Frontier flight.

If it's the NFL the chances are really good there will not be any cats playing. Now the CFL and Arena leagues not so much.

Patriots have Dane Fletcher

As I recall he was at MSU on a skiing scholarship as a jumper...spoke with him once on a Frontier flight.

They used to have a field goal target made out of tape on a wall inside the MSU Fieldhouse and Stenerud was goofing around one day in there, booting footballs at the target when the bball coach spotted him booming the ball and went and found Jim Sweeney the football coach. Sweeney immediately recruited him to kick for MSU. Stenerud rented a basement room from our next door neighbors and would occasionally line up us neighborhood kids and kick balls to us; I was 8 or 9 at the time, but still remember it well, it was quite a thrill.

No duh. My point was that anyone who is a fan of football played in Montana should be a fan of Jan Stenerud, regardless of where he played. Great kicker, great story, great for the entire state.
