I think anyone dreaming of a P5 coordinator is aiming much to high.

Probably right what’s your thought!s about then next coach?
P5 position coaches or a G5 coordinator primarily.

I put a list together last season when I was bored and frustrated, I’ll post it after I clean it up.

Grubb almost went to Bama last offseason. Grubb will be a HC at a P5 soon. I’d be happy with Chuck Morrell, he has the MT experience and the experience with a top tier P5 HC is huge.

If he brought the Husky offensive scheme along with someone capable of running it as an OC I'd be all for it.
No if Bobby gets let go, we need to hire an offensive coach. Morrell’s a good guy and I do think he’d be interested, but we need to hire somebody who’s been an OC

With offense being such a necessity a MWC coordinator or someone else from the G5 ranks is much more realistic and frankly I don't care if they have ties to Montana or not. The Kittens have done that twice recently and it's worked out for them

“Somebody whose been an OC” limits your pool extensively..not saying that’s wrong. But there are very few coaches qualified/interested in this job that have “been an OC”

With how big P5 coaching staffs are I don't see it as an issue that if Morrell were to bring someone who is capable of running the offense even if they haven't been an OC or go find someone at the G5 level from Deboers coaching tree.

Morell is a leader. Something Hauck is not. Players coach.

Doubt we could be expecting much more at the moment. I hate to see where this program is when Hauck either gets fired or resigns at then end of the season.

That kind of thinking is what got us stuck with Stitt. If Hauck is done at the end of the season, we need to choose the best coach, regardless of which side of the ball they coach.

How about the NAU OC as our new head coach? He was creative and on-point tonight, with a freshman QBat the helm. I heard that he has a solid family background in the game.

Alright I got a good one! Oregon State OC Brian Lindgren. He’s been the OC at OSU since 2018 and was the OC at Colorado for the previous 5 seasons and 1 season as OC at SJSU. Before that he spent 6 seasons at NAU with the last 3 coming at OC. He played QB at Idaho in the early 2000’s and he’s from Washington. Jonathan Smith has ties to UM and if Lindgren wants his first shot at being a head coach then this feels like the perfect fit!

Feels like a pipe dream but I’d love to hire Washington Offensive Coordinator Ryan Grubb. He’s done a tremendous job at UW and Fresno State before that as their OC. He’s also been a QB and OL coach in his career. I’m sure with the year UW is having he’ll be in line for an FBS job so it’s very unlikely.

Not even sure that is a pipe dream.

Pipe dream for sure. $$$

Just not sure a guy takes a 50% pay cut to make that move.

This is the one thing we know for sure as demonstrated over and over again. It takes 12-15 years for a coach to develop a team. No new coach can ever be successful. A new coach’s has to to 20 year ties to the program. You can’t ever play a freshman as quarterback You need 2 transfer quarterbacks to compete

Any coach that doesn’t sell the qb club on that is t worth their salt.

Yeah I have him on my list.

I also like Joe Lorig from Oregon, Conor Riley from Kansas State, Luke Huard from USC, Joe Schmeddling at Washington state, maybe even Andy Thompson!

Why would Andy Thompson leave a successful program to take on a dumpster fire in a lateral move? That makes no sense.

He makes 800k. We only pay 250k ish.. I like the thought but think it’s a stretch.

No way Aaron Pflugrad takes the job after what UM did to his old man.

Anyone else remember when the pac12 was the pac10 and everyone wanted Oregon state and Washington state kicked to the BSC? That’s basically what happened except now there are a crap load of ex BSC teams and other similar bad MWC teams that will bail them out. But the PAC12 money is gone, and now that Oregon’ and Washington have agreed they are $2 dollar whores the tv network don’t need any more 10:00pm est starts. The money for the west is gone

When that money is gone how are teams gonna pay a 3-5 offensive coordinator$800k per year.?
