That said... someone better figure out a solution. Without those three turnovers we would have likely lost by 17+ pts today.
I don't think Sac St. would break 20 against NDSU. The Hornets would get rolled.

Teams that have strong running games are the ones that give the Bison the most trouble. D2 Ferris State has run for the most yards against the Bison this year.....they ran the veer option out of the pistol set....kind of a cool offense to see; and their QB was like 6-5 and 235.
NDSU Defensive Stats for the year:
32 Rushing 1st downs vs. 65 Passing
78 Rushing yards/game vs 165 passing
They only give up 2.6 yards per rush
SDSU's Zenner averages 137 per game and NDSU held the whole team to NEGATIVE 32 yards rushing for the game.
As a Bison Fan, NDSU's pass defense worries me way more than the rushing defense
Like I said, strong running teams give the Bison the most fits. That 78 yds/game rushing is good and that is with Ferris State running for 228. Teams cannot run consistently so they pass more often. The pass defense is very good also. But teams like Wofford and Georgia Southern that have power rushing attacks really give the Bison trouble. See playoff stats from last year.
I hope the Bison get matched up with teams like EIU and EWU that just throw the ball everywhere. It lets our athletic and fast D-Line tee-off and get after the QB.
The reason SHSU has done so well against the Big Sky is that none of the teams they have faced has had a ball controlled offense except Cal Poly. SHSU loves to turn games into track meets. The Bison pound them with TOP and beat the sh** out of them. They scored almost 50 on EWU last year....the Bison gave up a total of 19 points in 2 games against them.
