The problem is not the question you pose - it is taking you serious and believing you actually have valid points to make on this board. Your intentions have never been one of "caring" about the Griz or the program by any means. Now you ask a serious question or is it? Your credibility is shot - not that many on this board have any. I guess BW and a few others. I personally feel the pamphlet is a waste of time. Why? Because kids/boosters don't read handouts and there is a far better way to educate them. This same scenario could have happened countless times in Bozeman and it has just not been reported or publicized. To think it has not is simply naive.
Most of my questions are serious, and the points I make are real, it's just that they usually come with a little jab or two and many on this board have really thin skins and cant see beyond that.

Either that or you're just a giant douche bag?

UM sends a compliance pamphlet out with the mailings of season tickets. I doubt they do it for every GSA contribution, and I highly doubt that even the ncaa would expect them to. There is also compliance information for both student-athletes and boosters prominently displayed on GoGRIZ.com.

Ah hah, so fizz fans just don't read huh?

We're pretty good at reading football records. We like what we see.

How sad that it takes that to make the cats feel as if their program is even close to that of the GRIZ.

psssst: It ain't.

The cats will never do anything close the what the Griz have done. Ever.

Not true NL. I'm the first to give credit where credit is due. And just this month, much like the GRIZ did in 1934, the cats paved their parking lot. So to suggest they aren't catching up in some respects really overlooks their recent progress.

Look at this guy inside of his glass house throwing rocks. Don't you have a coach in jail for meth?

Nope, he's out, wrote a book, speaks to kids about the dangers of meth, and coaches football at Simms high school. Totally turned his life around.

True, it happened. Changes were made for the better and MSU is good shape now.

And trouble happened at UM, changes were made hopefully for the better, and we'll be in good shape just like MSU is.

I would rather have these little troubles than the coach problem that MSU had. Things have turned around big time there and I hope that we can do the same.

It will take a change in the mindset of some of your fans though, a majority has made that change but the few holdouts need to be kept in check while you program has a chance to grow from this.

Is it not true that every season ticket holder is a booster because of the required GSA membership / donation to get your seats???

Any current or former season ticket holder in any sport is considered a booster, forever, even without a separate GSA donation. This is taken from Notre Dame's website:

"Not all Notre Dame alumni are considered boosters. Likewise, a booster does not have to be a graduate of Notre Dame. Boosters meet at least one of the criteria listed above. Thus, an individual who has ever made a financial contribution to the Athletics Department is a booster. In a general sense, a season ticket holder in any sport at any time is a booster. Members and financial supporters of the Notre Dame Monogram Club or any other Notre Dame athletic organization are boosters."

"Defining a Booster

Who is a Representative of Athletics Interests?

The NCAA broadly defines a "booster" as an individual, agency, entity or organization who is known by an institution to:

Have participated in or been a member of an agency that promotes the institution's intercollegiate athletics program

Have made financial contributions to the athletics department or a booster organization for the department

Have been involved otherwise in promoting the institution's athletics program

Have been a season ticket holder

Have provided benefits to student-athletes or their relatives or friends"

"Season ticket holder" - that sure is arbitrary. If I buy tickets to every home game individually and maybe even to all the road games then I am not a booster. I think that one could be reasonably challenged in court if anyone were so motivated.

And we're not nearly as dirty as your program has been in the recent past. What's your point? :|
