NC Tickets

So did anyone go down and wait til the last day or two to get tix there? Were you able to score some? How much did you pay?

Seemed a lot of folks said you’d be able to get the day of the day prior for cheap. Wondering if that worked

My brother bought our SRO tix about 8am sun morning. Paid $300 a piece.

8X what it cost to watch the Griz at home vs. NDSU....

I posted this on another thread but applies here too :

Give each team more tickets in their allotments. Those are the people that actually want to go, and cuts out the middle man resale BS . Who bought the resale ones? SDSU and Griz fans that is who.!!!!...just let them buy them at face value the week after the last semifinal game. The pre-buy then sell when your team doesn't make it just makes money for people not really fans of the teams playing and third party "fees" .

That makes sense to me. But I see why they do it the way they do as well. If you offer a presale, your power teams, i.e. UM, MSU, SDSU and NDSU will scoop them up with aspirations of making the big game. The tickets are sold and that's all they care about. They couldn't care less if those teams don't make it and try to resell them. They already got their money.

Along those lines, what about when one of those teams don't make it, or worse none of those teams make it. Suddenly you have Albany playing Furman in Frisco and you don't try to sell tickets until after the semifinals. I'm not pretending to know their fanbases, but I say with confidence they wouldn't travel as well as any of the four schools I mentioned.

I don't see them changing how they handle their ticket selling practices.

This did not seem to be a viable option this year. I didn't see anyone selling them in the parking lot or near the stadium, and what few tickets existed on the secondary market will still $300+ per on the morning o the game.

Reality is that if your team travels well or if you're playing a team that travels well, your fans get penalized due to high demand and low supply. If both are true then prices are ridiculously high ie. this year. Maybe the lesson is to be a fan of a team that doesn't have a lot of fans and rarely makes it to the championship? Just kidding...

Glad I got mine ahead of time. I was a bit skeptical when folks here were saying just go down there, you’ll get them no problem and they’ll be cheap. Didn’t seem to be the case.

Bought standing room only tickets on Saturday for my son and his buddies. With their fees it was just under $800 for three tickets.

Also saw two different dudes offering tickets outside the stadium. Didn’t bother to ask how much because I was already in line to go into the stadium.

In conclusion there didn’t seem to be a large (or any?) price savings by waiting until close to the day of the game

Well, it WAS the highest attended NC game EVER in Frisco, so there's that.

I don't think that's accurate. According to the following article there have been a number of higher attended games in Frisco. It is the highest attended since the stadium was remodeled in 2018 which I believe lowered capacity.

This is probably a bad time to mention we received more tickets than we requested. We were too afraid to say anything at the time for fear that the UM ticket office would mess up remediating them. Not surprised as the whole process was kind of messed up.

Don't know if it was the "highest attended" ever, but it was darn sure the BEST LOOKING CROWD in Frisco EVER!

Okay, so here's the question: with those numbers, we were basically at 100% capacity. If the stadium held, say, 30,000, could we have drawn more? Said another way, were people deterred from going because tickets were so scarce/expensive?

I think they were from some I talked to that didn’t get tickets from UM and ended up not going

I know multiple people who didn't go because they didn't get tickets. Some were pissed too. Better warning that GSA tickets were in very short supply should have been made. Also, better disclosure that many/most of the GSA tiks were SRO should have been made. Many in my greater group didn't want to stand and wanted seats, so we had to take corrective action. So I just gave away a bunch of SRO tiks and 1 seat. The late delivery of the tiks for Griz fans, and the related goof ups, were BS and inexcusable.

I think it's a criminal that the NCAA sells these tickets at the beginning of the season. So your only options are to buy them on the secondary market. Why not sell them at the start of the playoffs?

Got an email for presale today, let me know if anyone wants code. I'm to superstitious to buy this far in advance. Looks like tickets are around $200 each.
