MSU vs. Sac State.

Question for the Cat fans: Do you worry about Prukop getting hurt on a scramble going head first rather than sliding? He seemed to take some pretty big shots last night. Any durability concerns?

Sure, but watch him he is pretty good (especially for a Sophmore) at getting low, below the main force of the hit. Taking hits is a risk but it is football after all and he is a gamer. Prukop's progression this year has been really fun to watch, every game is he is improving on little things like getting below the hit, throwing away the ball when needed ect...

I think another factor is that both Prukop and the coaches know how close the QB battle really was this fall, and that we have a good backup in Jake should he be needed.

The 3rd QB is taking Reps at WR, (ton of injuries there) and will move back to QB should we need him there, Quinn was a close 3rd in the QB battle this fall.

Saffron has 463 yards and 5 TDs tonight.

Prukop ended up with EIGHT TD's, five passing, three rushing. Had almost 500 yards. Will probably the BSC pow again. Might get the national pow.

I'm here all week!

Dakota wins BSC AND National POW.

Easy there griz fan. Check the defensive stats between MSU and um's games vs. UND. MSU did just as well against them defensively as um did. They gave up 293 yards on 69 plays (4.2 per play) and um gave up 241 on 59 plays (4.1).

If JJ would have played the whole game, our defense would have given up ZERO yards.

Get a clue

Raider. I think this is the single most dumbest comment you have ever posted.

Not sure if most dumbest, but I gave it my most bestest effort.

...just trying to stay on par with the rest of the thread.

MSU did worse. MSU is worse.

Well, we'll see how our defense does against EWU and Sac State, but I'm pretty confident they won't give up 50+ points to both.

I agree. My guess would be 40 ish as an average. Not once have I said our D is as good as UM's. The UM D looks to be the real deal. They'll get some points put up on them once they face some high powered offenses, especially passing attack, but they are looking good, I'll give you that.

msu won't hang 40 on The Griz and neither will ewu. 20 or so and 28 or so respectively. No way 40 :bad:

VA might not even be playing the first week of November now.

Well the post I was commenting on was about EWU and Sac. I'll stick with my prediction of 40-ish. Saffron is the real deal. Not sure about VA's backup but he may struggle against your D, we'll see.

I don't think any team will hang 40 on The Griz just like I don't think The Griz will put up any "big" offensive numbers against any quality defenses.

I think you underestimate both offenses. If healthy, both those teams will score a good chunk of points on UM. UM does have a great defense, but when you really look at the opponents, its tough to tell how great of a defense you have.

- all 4 Griz wins are against teams with losing records.

- held Wyoming to 17, but their highest point total is 20 this year so their offense isn't great.

- held NDSU to 22 points, but the TOP in that game is staggering...

We will find out how good the UM defense is when they play Sac and EWU in back to back weeks and finish with the Cats. Not saying the Griz D isn't great as they have been to date, but we will see how great they are when they play teams that have a better offense.

Problem with your argument is all teams you reference have lousy defenses and while I agree The Griz offense has sputtered they still have a lot of playmakers to deal with. Not to mention we have sac state and msu at home. Watching all the replays there is no way any of the qb's in the fore mentioned arguments will stand back there and watch plays develop as has been the case to date. What I suspect is fans of ewu, and msu know playing Montana will be as much of a challenge as they want. I'll go on record and say not one of the teams mentioned will put 40 on Montana's defense and in fact the first team to 30 wins in all cases.
Go Griz!!

You are right, you can make the argument that MSU or EWU hasn't faced a Great D either so we will see. You could argue Washington has a good D as no team besides EWU has scored more than 20 on them but their opponents arent exactly stellar....

We will find out soon enough but I'm pretty sure at least one of the schools will score 30+ on the Griz, but I don't think anyone thinks the Griz game won't be a challenge. With or without VA, I know the Griz game will be a BIG challenge for EWU.
