Mr. Wahlberg goes to Helena UPDATED w/post comments

Might be off topic but who and how in the hell did our fine state elect and re-elect this guy so many times. Liberal, democrat.......I'd bet he carried the City of Missoula with 75%+ in many of those elections. And now he calls some Griz "thugs" and he's lambasted.

Lesson to voters.....liberal, Democrat, incumbent......those three words aren't the gospel!!

For some reason I can't load the streaming...so keep the ongoing commentary up...

You did really good Brint, thank you. Even being under the weather you still powered through, made it to Helena, and strongly advocated for all of those wrongly painted by Pat's broad brush. Regardless of the outcome in Helena, thank you Brint.

Good job folks. Opponent comments were very powerfull and thoughtful in my opinion. Accountability. If we ask for accountability from our kids, shouldn't we ask for it from our officials.

I like Mr Williams even LESS after watching him respond to questions about his remarks! He's a career politician that has forgotten about integrity, plain and simple!!

In response to a question from Dave Lewis, Williams just defended his comments again by saying that, in his opinion, Montana had not done a good enough job of doing criminal background checks on potential athletes, in particular the "six athletes" that the reporter asked him about, i.e., the "thugs."

Lewis did not ask any follow-up questions. So here's mine.

Pat, give us specific examples of the information that the University would have uncovered had it done better criminal background checks.

I've never really heard Pat Williams speak or posture. But, by my observations of the confirmation hearing, he meets my definition of a slick little politician. Although, I am sure secretly, some of his cohorts wouldn't mind if he wasn't confirmed, he seems to be the head honcho, has power and status, and probably access that they can't even dream about. You can see the looks of admiration dripping off his cohorts faces every time he speaks. He is a good speaker, good actor, and former politician. I really hope they find someone impartial, objective, and motivated to take his place on the BOR. If he had apologized at all or explained at some time that he could have used a better choice of words, or just in general explained the situation, PRIOR to the hearing, I might have given him a little kudos. After watching him grandstand, I don't believe anything he said and think he is full of sh!t. Word...

A criminal background check on him would uncover check kiting.
