More trouble for Mr. Donaldson

OpiPri....based on the past and recent issue MSU seems to be a glass house. How were those brownies from your Kali recruits?
The recent arrest of Donaldson is truly tragic but let's let our judicial process take place before getting to excited. I sat on a jury for a sexual assault case and remember well what the public defender said in his opening remarks. He said "do not acuse me of a sexual assault because whether I am guilty or innocent I will always have a black mark on me as a person." I am not saying Donaldson is guilty or innocent of the charges but am saying that his life has changed for the worse.

"Kali" "Trajic?" Are you for real? That has to be a joke. No one is that stupid.
Put down the battle swords ladies and remember there is bigger things than football. I am not piling on here, just wondering what recruiting has to do with rape. This is much bigger than stupid fucking football.

I know nothing about the facts, but I know Donaldson and I have doubts that rape occurred or that this will stick. I think Donaldson is a good kid. I know good kids can get caught up with date rape-type things too, but my instincts tell me that he didn't rape anyone.
Did you really just say good kids rape girls??? Really???

Yes that is exactly what he said. That is how f*cked up you have to be as an attorney or at least a over-zealous former Bobcat fan like PlayaRape.

Nope, that's not what i said. I said: "I know good kids can get caught up with date rape-type things too,"

Do you disagree with the statement? Do you think it's not possible for a good kid to make a mistake and "get caught up with date rape-type things" or to get falsely accused?

Savage, when are you going to stop making your racist posts? It's getting old.

Never, I'm never going to think that I can't comment about crime in this country. I will not allow political correctness, conventional wisdom or white guilt make me think that I can't stand with the President, Bill Cosby and Morgan Freeman on the issues in the black community. I truly believe as these men do that something needs to change inside Black American culture. To take that a step further our whole American culture could use a little spiffing up our crime rates are sky high compared to our contemporaries. Specifically though murder in the Black community accounts for roughly HALF of all murders annually and they are 13% of the population of this country.

In 2010 the most recent year that data was availible there were 2,975 white men arrested for murder and white men are about 37% of the population. In the same year 2,439 black men were arrested for murder and they are 7.5% of the population. Its an epidemic and if you are cool with that as a status quo then maybe you need to look at yourself and wonder why you don't want better for Black Americans like I do. This is just the murder issue, blacks are vastly overrepresented in every other crime demographic as well. Believe it or not I really do want whats best for them and America.

What's with the "can get caught up with" part of your carefully worded sentence? You seem to want to soften up raping someone. You're coming across as really saying if Donaldson is found to have committed rape, his responsibility is less because he was influenced by others somehow......like, hey the dude just got caught up in it.

Nope, I'm not saying that at all. If anyone is convicted of rape in a fair trial, I'm fine with that and the punishment they receive.

First off, chicks exagerate on rape.

Second off, she could sucked his dick and still got rape just because she said she didn't want it later on.

Third off, no justice system actually works. Only the people involved actually know what happened. And a lot of people lie.

Opiprim. thanks for pointing out my early morning spelling error. Your post seems to support what I was saying. This is a serious issue and Donaldson will have to live with the accusation, innocent or guilty, for the rest of his life. He needs to take the punishment if he is found guilty but if he is innocent there will always be that black mark.
My comment about glass houses and Kali is in reference to a recent bobcat recruit and his marijuana laced brownies. The cat program is not a pure and untainted as many bobcat posters seem to think.
I think the smart think to do is to ignore you comment about stupid.
Have a great day OpiPri. Rememebr kick off is 11:00 am MST for the FCS Natuonal Championship.Oh ya, the two teams playing are the most recent playoff teams that completely violated rob ash's msu bobcats.

The irony of that "sentence" is amazing.

You can't be serious. If you are I hope somebody rapes your mother or wife so you can see the effects first hand.

I hardly see it as irony but more like a good swat to the back of your head for doing something completely inappropriate and uncalled for. I hope you enjoy the FCS Championship game today.

This football program is out of control. It is now time to stop the ridiculous defending of these kids, these coaches, Jim O'Day, and the football machine, and begin holding these players responsible for their actions, as well as holding the coaches and athletic director responsible for not reporting incidents, taking no action against players who commit these crimes, and paying tax-payer money at the rate of $150/hour for two months to try to get a handle on this situation for the purpose of softening the blow to the program.

We are talking about 65-90 young student-athletes, who seem to be unable to go a month without a major criminal incident splattered all over the newspapers, and even all the way to ESPN and the national sports media. If one takes a random sampling of 65-90 other male UM students, there is no way that this sub-group is guilty of the number and frequency of crimes that surrounds our football team. Stop spinning these indiscretions because you are a fan. Playa Rape is absolutely an embarrassment to our athletic program and fan base. Yet, so many of you support his sickening explanations, passing the blame to over-zealous police, media with an agenda to bring the program down, or celebrating reduced or dropped charges as some sicko sort of vindication. It is time to become a classy fan and be vocal about your refusal to support the coaches and administration who allow this stuff to go on, without consequence to the players committing these acts.

Do you think that UM would hire an investigator at $150/hour for a regular student jailed for rape? I think we all know the answer to that one. Then why should we condone it for an athlete? What is the program trying to hide? Ohio State did the same thing trying to figure out how to soften the blow to their program during the Tressel mess. I think this is the tip of the ice-berg within this athletic program. I think these investigations will uncover an on-going practice of cover-up by the UM athletic department. If so, heads need to role.

You all need to ask yourself this question....... is it worth being a die-hard UM football fan to compromise your integrity by supporting what this football program has become, all to continue the gravy-train of winning and keeping the cash register singing? I have said it before, and will say it again. This fan would rather lose games playing with quality athletes, than win with thugs. Period!

You can say want you want about the Cat's, but the fact is the program has been realtively clean since Coach Ash came on board. Also, the minor things that have happened were met with swift action. On the other hand the UM program has had one incident after another and most relating to more serious incidents that have resulted in extensive damaging press coverage. No matter what the outcome of the cases against the individuals, they have been damaging to the University and our State from a public relations standpoint. You have to admit when you wake up in the morning and see something like this in the paper it makes you sick. The university and athletic dept. needs to do a complete review of the program and figure out why these things are happening. You can slam me on this, but reality is the reputation of your institiution has been damaged. This latest case is downright serious!

One more thing, I totally agree with Savage Paw. His post was not racist in any way. He was stating FACT. No reasonable person can argue with facts being used to support their position. Facts are something that Playa Rape has a hard time dealing with. He prefers lawyer-spin.

I saw the missoulian article stated that Donaldson would not receive the same legal counsel as tru and kemp. It basically said he was on his own....I thought that was curious.

Speaking of the facts:

Do you really think there are only 65 players on the football team?

Do you not understand the Barz was hired for the university to look largely at Title IX matters. She was not hired for any players or students?

Do you think $150 an hour is a high rate for a lawyer. Top lawyers in east and west coast firms charge $1200 per hour.

Do you not understand that the university doesn't hire or pay for lawyers for students and athletes?

I agree that the university needs to get on top of these things, to comply with Title IX and to make sure everything is being done to minimize these types of problems.

More than half of all rape arrests end in dismissal or acquittal, according to stats I've seen, including this one.

"Less than half of those arrested for rape are convicted, 54% of all rape prosecutions end in either dismissal or acquittal"

If true, this is terrible for all involved (victim obviously, families, Beau, Griz community, etc). There is no excuse for this, period. The court process will hopefully take care of this appropriately.

On the other hand, the coaching staff, athletic department, and administration needs to get this stuff figured out. I'm sure that none of the recruiters could've foretold any of these legal issues when they recruited a kid....but something has got to be done soon to avoid this stuff from happening once the kids get here. Too much bad publicity from athletes in the Griz community. As a UM grad, I'm ashamed. Each time stuff like this happens, it gets harder to whole-heartedly recommend UM for my family's or friends' kids to attend. I will always recommend, but it gets more difficult to do it without some reservations.

And if Beau did this, I hope he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

I agree we need prosecute all involved. The football team needs to be cleaned up. With that said I fear the team may just be the tip of an ice berg, the part that is visable easist to address, while the bigger part is harder to see and deal with. The morals and values in our society right now scare me and Montana is not isolated and insulated from the bad (inspite of the opinion posted in the Missoulian). The shock that many of us feel or felt in the past is not there for many when they hear of or see things happening now. Maybe desensitized by the daily news reports, video games, movies, TV shows, the mass spread of anything on the internet, I don't know, maybe it is all starting to seem normal that it is just part of life and what people do. More and more our society and the world is becoming more egocentric. Self is all that matters. Listen to your kids talk to their friends. Many do not trust anyone and think everyone is out to do bad. They really do not like others and are more and more isolated. (Maybe from being Bullied in school. The Boys will be Boys or it is what middle school and high school Girls do attitude as a down play of behavior is not good.) From our Male side we are suppose to look out for our Ladies. But it seems to be becoming a lost value. How can they learn it when they sit on their beds, with headphones and mics on their head, and their social contact is through a violent video game. (This was my son and his friends the same age as Beau). Sex to many is not a big deal and not really something special. It should be.

To defend someone by saying they are a good person is weak at best. How do we know what is really inside the minds of another. How many major criminals when caught have had people who knew them shocked by what they did. The football team needs to be cleaned up.....but the bigger job will take much longer and needs to address much more parts of our community and society.

So 54% of reported rapes didn't happen and the girls were lying?

That seems to be what you're implying.

Makes you think, perhaps, there is more evidence of Donaldson's wrongdoing in this case than there was in the Johnson and Kemp incident. I have no idea ... just stating a thought.
