Montana's Anderson looking good.

Saw my dumb ass neighbor (DAN) at the mailboxes. Here’s how our chat went:

Me: Looking for that collection notice again?

DAN: F-u, the Detroit Lions will be drafting [the cowboy] in the third and could reach up to grab him earlier.

Me: Why? I heard his arms are so short he can’t “reach up and grab” anything.

DAN: Their coach is cut from the same cloth.

Me: A beaver pelt?

DAN: And they have a need to fill.

Me: Just one?

DAN: {side eye}

Me: Want to hear a joke?—Detroit lions.

DAN: Real funny. We’ll see who’s laughing.

Me: I wouldn’t wish being drafted by the lions on Putin.

DAN: I thought you would be happy and want the Lions to pick him?

Me: Putin? No.

DAN: {more side eye}

This is really stupid

It appears the consensus of the so called experts was that Troy did really good. Looks like they all disagree with Garizzalie's and many of the other naysayers on here. Looks like Troy may be in for a big pay day.

Everyone one know he is athletic. He showed elite LB speed at Combine. See more specifics below:

"On Saturday, Andersen attempted two 40s that were unofficially clocked at 4.41 and 4.46 (some teams clocked him below 4.40 on his first sprint). Only one other linebacker broke 4.5: Alabama’s Christian Harris (4.44)."

“He is fun to watch. He just pulverizes blockers,” Jeremiah said on Saturday’s broadcast as Andersen ran his first 40. “He is outstanding in coverage. You saw the straight line speed there. You’ll see him once he changes directions in the field drills. He’s outstanding in that area as well.”

I don't agree with what I bolded above. He did not pulverize blockers. He often tried to run around blockers, and made mistakes. He took some bad angles, although he speed helped coverup some of those mistakes. He often did not show good technique in taking on blockers. He's too slow/late at times in changing directions. See the above NFL comments on his weaknesses. On the other hand, the NFL loves athleticism and speed.

Like I said, the article that I posted showed a consensus by some of the top draft experts that Troy did really good and upped his value. It did mention in the article the experience factors is where he needs work. That ties into the NFL comments you posted on his weaknesses. They all had to do with experience at the position. Like you said, they all felt his speed and athleticism far outweighed his weaknesses. Also, another factor Troy has going for him is that he is very smart. I don't think he got less than an A in any subject all through his school life. He is a quick learner.

What do you want Griz fans to say, BS33? I’ll try: Andersen is the smartest, fastest, hardest working, hardest hitting, most agile, longest-armed, most talented LB in the history of the NFL Draft. He’s a genius on and off the field who is also a great bowler, helps old ladies cross the street, gives his time to the less-fortunate, and has the best model train collection in the entire Gallatin Valley.

Or, is it permissible to believe that he’s a good special teams/backup prospect who will probably play a few years in the NFL? I really don’t want to lump Bobcat fans in with Bizon fans in terms of insecurity, but you’re making it very difficult.

Those guys are talking heads. The draft experts are the NFL scouts and some at the NFL teams. I can tell by the comments of some in the article that they don’t know what they are talking about. In particular, they praised some things that are actually his weaknesses. In my view, he is an athletic project who still has to learn or find his position. Again, the NFL likes athleticism and speed.

But the NFL isn't a place to learn and find a position. There are plenty of elite athletes that have the skills now and are quick and fast too. Plus they have the experience of getting off blocks. Anderson does not have that. And if you think he has any sort of skill at that, re-watch the Griz/Cat game and the Bison game. He got destroyed! He wasn't a factor in either game. What the hell are NFL lineman going to do to him. He excelled in our league with his sheer athleticism. He no longer has much of an advantage any longer. In fact his delay in reading the plays will now make him mediocre at LB. I hope I'm wrong though.

He is a special teams player and that is it. And he's only a few good hard hits away from being an ex-NFL player with his shoulder.

I challenge you, sir, to point out said naying, or apologize for bespeaking my good name.

I like your first para and pretty much agree with all of it. But I believe the NFL will give him more of a chance to learn and improve, because of his athleticism, size and speed. That wouldn't make him a second rounder for my team, tho.

CDA you can say or believe anything you want. I just passed along an article that quoted some so called experts that said he did really good and upped his value. Take from it what you like. And yes, he will probably only play a few years as the average tenure for an NFL player I think is about 3 years.

So you can’t cite a single shred of evidence to support your accusations?
Typical blubfat. Full of hot air and flat beer

Hey, thanks for that permission. Much appreciated. I have no doubt that the kid will make a roster and play multiple years.

He made himself a bunch of money this weekend. If he stays healthy then he will have a long and successful career.

For the posters on here that were laughing about us telling you TA might go in the 2nd round or early 3rd..... do you feel really dumb right now? Or are you going to wait until after the draft to feel really dumb? UFA or 6th, 7th round at best...

Nothing new here, just not the sharpest tacks in the pack over here.

If he goes before the 4th round, it will once and for all prove the Bobcats' superiority over the Griz. I'm not even sure how we could regroup if that happens. The sense of pride it will bring to aging Cat trolls on eGriz will put Griz fans into complete shambles. The Griz may even cancel the program altogether.

From the NFL Combine website. If this a 2d round or early 3d round draft choice?

"Prospect Grade
5.90
Average Backup Or Special-Teamer"

"5.80-5.99
Average backup or special-teamer"

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/troy-andersen/3200414e-4403-2919-d53c-a916ee67b720

That 5.90 gets him as the 18th rated LB at Combine. https://www.nfl.com/combine/tracker/participants/lb/all-colleges/

Have any Griz fans said TA wasn't athletic? I don't recall any. With his now official 4.42 40, he has shown elite speed for a LB. Don't know why he doesn't show up as having done 3 or so of the events, including bench and shuttles.

97th pick of 3d round in this mock draft: https://www.nfl.com/news/three-round-2022-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-five-trades-five-qbs-selected-in-round-1

https://www.nfl.com/news/three-round-2022-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-packers-add-wr-in-round-3

With his fast 40, I have no doubt he increased his status, but I still don't think that makes him a better or more experienced LB. Special Teams, of course. Drafted, yes. Some time to develop, yes. Another position, don't know?

I didn't think he would go that high. But I am glad I was wrong. Good kid from Dillon, MT
