Montana vs North Dakota State on ESPN (2015)

I gotta say this.. For how shitty moose drool tastes, Big Sky does a hell of a job marketing it to the out of state folks. There is so much better beer brewed in Missoula than moose drool but im a hophead and i love bitter beer... That might be my problem..

98% of those beers you can't get outside of the state. So, we drink what we can.

Ok. Ummmm. How inane can I get? For the 3 Cobbers I know are on eGriz - including myself - who realized that the Concordia College fight song is the same tune as the Bobcat fight song? I was nauseous the day it dawned on me. :puke: Nauseous I tell you.

That ought to do it.

:coffee:
You call yourself a cobber you son of a bitch?

You got songs. Boosters paid good money for those songs. You can't sing with the songs you have? You can't sing garbage? You ARE garbage, hit the bricks, pal, and beat it, 'cause you are going out!

Remember, boys and girls: A - Always, B - Be, C - Cobbing. Always Be Cobbing. Always. Be. Cobbing.

Pretty much all I care about the week of August 29th is fishing the Big Blackfoot and drinking Moose Drool. The game is just a game and should be fun and competitive . Anyone who wants to join me is welcome to stop at the KOA in Missoula.....stadium dick measuring contests not allowed but fisherman lies are accepted.
FYI lakesbison, your Minnesota lakes pump it up lifestyle is overrated and underwhelming once you have been anywhere outside of your supposed paradise. $200k for a 50 foot lot on a zebra mussel infested muddy lake where the most excitement you might get is seeing an occasional nip slip from some fat drunk chick biffing it tubbing. Awesome dude.
That post earned you a Moose Drool or two--you want to fly fish the Blackfoot? Maybe the name gave it away, but, I live there!
Fly fishing the Blackfoot has been on my shit to do list for a few years now. Finally have an excuse to get up there and give it a go.
There are some good rivers to fly fish near MSLA, including the blackfoot, bitterroot, and hell, even the clark fork. But none of those can hold a candle to Rock Creek (unless you are floating), esp. the upper section. My favorite (non-permit or non-over-night) float in all of MT is the upper section, but you can only do it prior to July. Fishing actually sucks that time of year but the float is fun as hell. And FYI, I think the river in the movie a river runs thru it was actually the Gallitin and not the blackfoot or bitterroot. That's one of the few things better near Bozo than MSLA.

I have to agree with you on Rock Creek being the best....(Salmonfly hatch !) unfortunately that will be long over by August. You are correct about the movie, too....
Although both the book and movie are set in Missoula and on the Blackfoot River, it was filmed in 1991 in south central Montana in Livingston and Bozeman,[2] and on the nearby upper Yellowstone, Gallatin, and Boulder Rivers. The waterfall shown is Granite Falls in Wyoming.[3][4][5] The church scenes were filmed in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Livingston.[6][7]

Fly fishing anywhere around here in late August can be iffy depending on the weather, stream flows, hatches etc. Years ago I guided a legally-blind man on the Blackfoot and he caught a few(thankfully hoppers worked well). Pretty sure I can get 2011 Bison a few fish...

Bison, can you see? Both hands and arms work okay?

This. If you want a real Montana beer get a Cold Smoke, Double Haul, Blackfoot IPA, or Hat Trick.

That's my favorite thing about MT: all the rivers. All the rocky mountain states have cool scenery, mountains, animals, skiing, ect. But when it comes to fishing moving water, it aint even close. Most of the rivers in the other states are either too big/fast or overrun.

...an even better indicator of noise levels in a stadium? Studies that include equipment specifically designed to measure noise levels.

http://www.nbcmontana.com/news/high...y-stadium-recorded-at-saturdays-game/22654586 (The official measuring device recorded a noise level of 111.3 decibels at Wa-Griz stadium)

http://www.ndsu.edu/news/view/detail/11095/ (The official measuring device recorded a noise level of 115 decibels in the Fargodome)

You conveniently forget to mention the level measured in Missoula was while the football game was being played, while the level measured at Fargo was during a halftime announcement that the concession stands were sold out of Nachos. :ugeek:
