Every decent team they played they lost. Griz have a good chance of dominating. This is football though and anything can happen. This game shouldn't be that much of a problem for the griz and if they are... Well I see a loss from Weber and MSU and bad losses. However I don't think that's the case. This team seems to be able to pull a rabbit out their ass when needed. Besides agains Sac.. Hopefully that game was just a fluke though. Shit happens.

The excuse this week will be that it's on the road, at high altitude, against a team they historically struggle against. Rose-colored glasses-wearers will wave off a mediocre performance by JJ by pointing to his bum ankle, insisting that he's still the best option at QB even though he allows the opposing defense to key on the running back since he's no threat to run.
IF the Griz win, it'll be by less than 7. There's about a 60/40 chance they lose this game, and it'll be a harbinger of things to come. They lose this one and there likely won't be another D-I win this year....hell that's probably the case even if they WIN this one. :?

Ya know AZGriz, you can be "objective" AND a "Griz fan" too. It wouldn't hurt you to try on the glasses every once in a while. Take a sip of Koolaid while you're at it...isn't it still warm in AZ?![]()

You make me sad AZ...then I look at your avatar and get all cheered up again.

this is far and away the most accurate thing you have ever posted JCU, nice job. There is no set amount of passing yards, or completions that we MUST have to win the game. There are some things we need to do though that will defiantly put us on the right path to winning. Minimize turnovers, convert a high percentage of third downs, and for the love of god finish drives with touchdowns. Of course continue to play solid D.jcu27 said:Just like how if JJ played the last games we would've lost? Right? JJ could pass for 50 yard and we could still win, but we'd need a f*** ton of rushing yards.

ast October, Jerome Souers was five small seconds away from exorcising some serious demons.
But, as has been the case throughout Souers' tenure as head coach at Northern Arizona, the Montana Grizzlies kept the Lumberjacks on the wrong end of domination.
The Griz have owned Souers ever since he was hired at NAU all the way back in 1998. Souers has had his share of successes with the Lumberjacks, to be sure. But for whatever reason, Montana has served as Souers' personal svengali.
Including last year's contest in Missoula -- where Griz wideout C.J. Atkins pinned a 1-yard touchdown catch from Justin Roper against his helmet for a 24-21 victory -- Souers is 0-13 all-time against Montana.
And it's a bit of a cruel twist of fate. Souers, you remember, was Montana's defensive coordinator for 10 years, helping the Griz win their first national championship in 1995. But he has never been able to get over the hump against his former team.
Last year's game was especially tough on Souers -- because he had victory in his grasp. And his postgame quotes told the story. Here was one of them:
"I feel terrible for our kids. It's really been tough, and it's tough on me. But we are resilient and we'll hold our head high. We'll continue to follow the plan."
What will the plan entail for Saturday's meeting between NAU and Montana? We'll see when the time comes.
But As long as Souers and Robin Pflugrad are the coaches of their respective teams, this matchup will provide an interesting subplot. Souers and Pflugrad grew up together in Oregon -- they even successfully ran for student council together in the ninth grade -- and have been longtime friends and colleagues.
The cosmos say this might be the year Souers finally breaks through. Streaks have been falling in Missoula over the course of the last two seasons, first with the Grizzlies missing the playoffs for the first time in since 1993, and then with Montana losing for the first time in 16 games against Sacramento State.
For this streak to end, the Lumberjacks will have to find a way to solve the Grizzlies' gritty defense first. And they'll also need to slow down UM's running game, which has rushed for 660 yards in three straight victories.
A lot is on the line in this one.

I totally agree with that post.Growler1 said:Since you asked, if our illustrious coach ran the two-back offense that he should be using with the personnel he has, Moore would be an incredible lead-blocking FB, opening huge holes for Canada and Peter to run through. Then, we could actually pass to our tight ends, who are one of the strengths of our team, use slant patterns, drag patterns, middle screens that actually work, and shelve the stupid horizontal passing game that Pflu loves so much. Since you asked.................![]()
