Factoring in that they have a really good coach who knows us well and a reasonably good D. Griz 35 Coyotes 21

How in the hell does he know us well?

I dunno, maybe because he coached the Griz for three years including taking us to the NC twice? Was yours a trick question?

Over 10 years ago...things have changed some. Doubt this qualifies as "knows us well"

Wow didn't take long for that troll to hijack a straightforward prediction thread.

You guys are a joke. I give an honest prediction and you call me a troll for predicting against the Griz, and you proceed to insult my mothrer. Straight egriz trash. The yotes have a real shot at beating you.

Who's your mothrer,

Your trolling skills are weak, Luke, you might want to consult Yoda for advice.... :msugrad:

Sorry Dr. Precision! ;) He has knowledge and experience from when he coached the Griz to three consecutive BSC titles and a NC. You think that the basic Griz game is so different that Joe Glenn doesn't know what Griz football is about? I don't. Besides, whether you think Glenn knows us well or not doesn't change my score prediction. Griz 35 Coyotes 21. Go Griz!

South Dakota is 4-5 for the year, yet this game could be a real challenge. Their offense is much improved after switching QB's mid-season. So statistical season averages are somewhat misleading. Among their losses is Univ of Kansas, Northern Arizona (a 5 pt loss, closer than our game), and last week Youngstown St (8-1) who needed to score with 14 seconds left in order to win 38-34. Add to that we're playing there on the road. Coach Joe Glenn's desire to beat his old team. The Coyotes certainly desire to prove they're good even though they essentially drop out of the playoff race last week. Everything suggests this may be a real tough game.

On the other hand, they have to be extremely deflated after letting a huge upset slip through their fingers. South Dakota also has their in-state rivalry game with SD St the following week, then NDSU after that one. So their team may not be as focused on Montana as they should be. I hope these potential distractions help our cause because this is anything but an easy game. Also hope our Grizzlies are ready to play from the start. These last three weeks should have our Grizzlies knowing they can score at will when we need/want to. I'd love to see us take it to them early. We want to crush the Coyote's already depressed spirits so we don't end up with another last minute nail biter. Building a large early lead would do that.
Final Score: Montana 31 South Dakota 17 :ugeek:

Good take, I agree it won't be a walkover and if the disinterested Griz show up it could well be an L. If the griz show up it should be a 10-14 point W.

No apology necessary Mr Non-precision....

Of course he has knowledge and experience from his coaching past and probably understands the basics of football and knows what Griz football is about but none of this means he knows the current version of Griz football well. His past with Griz football over 10 years ago will not be a huge factor in the game.

That's kind of a dumb post, football has changed in the the last decade even it you haven't noticed, what happened a decade ago is irrelevant, grizindabox tends to troll but he knows him some football, the Griz have better talent, but by no means does that give us a W. Not that hard to understand.

That's an entirely rational post, WTF is up with that, we need grizinabox as hater law that saves us from unpopular speech.

You are on notice grizinabox, we are coming.

Like I replied the first time, you got it right on both counts. I have no need to apologize and the anal factor on this board makes me laugh - I couldn't keep up with the precision of the know-it-alls even if I wanted to. I was wondering why you didn't answer my question in your pre-edit reply. I certainly don't pretend to know the finer points o' the game, but maybe you do. Griz football has had some pretty consistent elements for a pretty long time. Smaller, shifty backs. Focus on the Linebacker corps. Run first (OK, depending on era) No?

Man, you guys are a tough crowd! I didn't say Glenn knows our playbook. I didn't say that they would beat us because they have Joe Glenn. Predicted Griz would win by 14 points, just adding a little small talk to my prediction, and I'm not even clear why you would take issue. Now, I'm trying to see if you guys agree that the Griz game has some common features that do go back 10 years or more. Examples: We often have smaller, shifty backs. We rarely have a big back and we don't put the ball in the hands of a fullback much. I think we have often relied on our linebackers to carry the D. In the last ten years, we have been a run first team for eight. Thoughts?

Mick Delaney has made it quite obvious he likes to run the ball so this game should set up good for him. usd has not held a single team under 100 yds this year. At this time in the season we should be able to come out of there with a win.
Montana 34
south dakota 17

This is the most important game of the year.
Solidifies the playoffs (we won't lose to weber at home).

It would be nice to not repeat 2010 and make the brawl a do or die...

Gotta get this HUGE road win agianst a VERY dangerous USD team.

Griz: 33
Coyotes: 28

GO GRIZ

If we come in with an open offensive game plan...throw short and mid range passes on 1st AND second down once in awhile. We have had to pass almost every third down in the last couple weeks.
Griz 35
Coyotes 21

If we do what we've been doing and run the ball on every single 1st down even when it repeatedly nets negative yards, I would fear another stressful-to-watch toss up.

If this team tackles better and oc opens up playbook on 1st and second down, i think we have a different Griz team.

got a bad feeling this week. hope i'm wrong. 35-30 SD.

As do I, Yukon....worse than I felt about the Sac State game before kickoff. I was worried as soon as the schedule was released seeing us finish the year w/three of our final four on the road....brutal.
