Montana HS Football Recruits 2015

So to restate, Recruiting has many factors, and they all play in who the Griz try to recruit, its not a A=B=C math formula.

:agree:

Especially with these F..ked up NCAA restrictions.

Prospective football student-athletes can submit themselves to UM right here:

I would hope we would take a good look at Kessler Leonard. Tough, hard-nosed football player AND longtime champion wrestler. Hard working young man

Where is he from, what position does he play, and any idea how big / fast he is?

Great Falls high. Not big, but a great athlete and state champion wrestler. Really the only bright spot on that team. I would suspect he is a slot receiver. I have no idea about his speed. Good kid too. Possible safety?

From the Great Falls Tribune super state article. http://www.greatfallstribune.com/story/sports/2014/12/20/super-state-football-glacier-cmr-stars-elite-team/20710989/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

McChesney (MSU or UM)
Jones (MSU or UM)
Bingham (UM,USD,NAU)
Harris (UM)
Hill (MSU,UM)
Boschee (Dickinson State)
Rauthe(MT Tech)

Jones (MSU or UM)
Bingham (UM,USD,NAU)
Harris (UM)
Hill (MSU,UM)
Boschee (Dickinson State)
Rauthe(MT Tech)

The article says McChesney is deciding between Montana Tech and Montana State, where, as of now, he would be a walk-on.

After speaking with Logan's Dad, it sounds like MSU is giving him no $. He would be a preferred walk on. He may join Rauthe & Pisk and head to Tech. His final decision will come soon.

Logan should go to Tech. Money talks, and sh :!: t walks. Tech had a great recruiting class last year, and looks to have another fine one. He could tear it up there, finish college debt free, and land a high paying job that Tech grads are virtually guaranteed to land.

Good Luck to him. He is a fantastic player, and from everything I have heard and watched, a good kid. Pisses me off that we didn't offer him a full ride. The kid is a one-of-a-kind player, and has shown it over the past 3 years. Neither of the QB's at Butte put up anything remotely close to the numbers they put up the past 3 years without him. A LOT of the yds they had were short passes that he turned into long runs.

I don't have a crystal ball, but I think we will regret this one. But once again, good luck to Dalton!

One of the, if not the, best WRs in state of Montana history.

20 catches in a single game — state record.
• 286 receiving yards in a single game — Butte High record, four yards shy of the state record.
• 3 receiving touchdowns in a game (he did it four times) — 2nd in school history.
• 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown (he did it twice) — The school record of 102 yards cannot be broken under current MHSA rules.
• 76 catches in a single season (2013) — Butte High record.
• 1217 yards in a single season (2013) — Butte High record.
• 16 receiving touchdowns in a single season (2013) — Butte High record, one shy of state record.
• 17 touchdowns in a season (2013) — Butte High record.
• 35 career touchdowns — 2nd all-time in school history.
• 32 career receiving touchdowns — state record.
• 196 career receptions — state record.
• 2,997 career receiving yards — state record.

One of maybe. Lots of school records.

Not sure I would say best ever.

Not even in Top 10 in State many categories. I am pretty surprised at this.

http://mhsa.org/Records/BoysFootballRecords.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Edit - I went back and looked again. The MHSA records say they were updated this month. 32 career touchdowns would put him in front by a long ways. It shows the leader at 24??? Not sure what is going on.

In fact, those records don't look accurate at all......

you wont see the MHSA football records updated unless a coach contacts them......which since many don't ever do they are very sketchy at best

Didn't know that. Thanks. That is unfortunate. They should all be updated at the end of the year.

Here's some photos/info on northwest montana recruits...Josh Sandry, Josh Hill, ect....

It's just tough that the state kids get only preferred walk on or partial offers from UM. A kid has to really want to be a Griz to walk away from a scholly. It's obvious to us what a prospect should do, but tough to sell it to a kid.

I hope we stay after Daum until signing day. Also, look at Danny Peoples from ButteCentral.
QB's his team to the Class A chipper and is a great punter/kicker. Nice to have a kicker with skills.
