McGhee out til October

Seriously.

SFA lit you guys up last year.

McGhee's passing was the only thing that kept you in it.

I'd be very worried if I were you.

Looks like Bleskin played really well. Doesn't matter that it was Colorado-Mesa. Looks like he played a good game. Kudos to him.

Poorgriz: Honest question. Not looking for spin doctoring. Do you think Bleskin is better than DeNarius and do you think, IF DM doesn't come back, the Cats will win the league title outright, as so many of your bretheren predicted at the start of the season?

Absolutely not. Nobody could say that with a straight face. I don't know that JB will ever be as good as DM, but I can tell you that he's pretty damn good and is only going to get better. FYI - I was never one that predicted we would win the league outright, even with DM. I did predict we split the title for the 4th year in a row, and I am sticking with that prediction.

Another honest question: if you tie for 3rd in the league, are you going to claim it as a BSC title?

Nope, the secondary is much better than last year. We have more speed on defense, Daly is leading the nation in tackles for loss and I believe sacks. Singleton is (in my opinion) better than Owens, Foster has developed much faster than expected and Moore is very steady at SLB. SFA won't "light" us up like last year. Overall I think the defense will end up being better than last year, provided the current players stay healthy and we get a few guys back.

Jake just needs to manage the game and keep the streak of no turnovers going. MSU hasn't turned the ball over as of yet. The Cats may not win in as spectacular fashion like the Griz have done for two games, but they will get the job done.

" When we play conference games, we're in trouble." That is the comment from my bobcat friend that I watched the CoMesa game with. He was way less than impressed with the offensive output. I have to agree.

Its pretty sad to have to depend on the defense to score, in order to win at all though.......

How do you feel about 8-4, if no McGhee for rest of season? I'm not suggesting a bet.

I see 8-4 as a real possibility simply based on what I know of this team. admittedly I made it only to a handful of practices this year and that's all I got on bleskin. I just think he has the makings of a good qb and I am of the belief that our TEAM as a whole is better than people give us credit for.

I am in no way shape or form saying the loss of DM won't be a setback. I just have never felt that he was a one man show. and while I love Roderick the only thing i'm worried about concerning that injury is that we have a new holder on field goals now. he wasn't a starter, only has a few catches, and has been targeted less than 10 times.

I could see us still winning more than 8 games but that would be a bet I don't think i'd pull the trigger on. it could be close.

Tell you what. You win fewer than 8 (7-5 or worse), I get $100. 8 is a wash. 9 wins or better, I give you $100.

ha. little back-track huh? you predicted 6 wins. I said we'd win more. why would you get $100 if they won more than 6?!

however if you want to stand behind your previous prediction i'll gladly stand by my hundred dollar bet that the cats will win more than that.

8-) 8-)

2-2, with no help on the way....the ship be sinkin!

I honestly see you guys dropping the next two games....

Honestly I see us winning the next two games. Defense will carry the Cats through and Jake will be fine and the running game will improve. No worries!

If THAT'S the defense that's going to carry the 'scats, ya'll are in big trouble.
