Then you'll beat Weber, UCDavis & UNC, before finishing off the season with 3 straight losses. 6-6.

I've noticed no one ever accepts these bets but i'll gladly bet you on this prediction.

How do you feel about 8-4, if no McGhee for rest of season? I'm not suggesting a bet.

I see 8-4 as a real possibility simply based on what I know of this team. admittedly I made it only to a handful of practices this year and that's all I got on bleskin. I just think he has the makings of a good qb and I am of the belief that our TEAM as a whole is better than people give us credit for.

I am in no way shape or form saying the loss of DM won't be a setback. I just have never felt that he was a one man show. and while I love Roderick the only thing i'm worried about concerning that injury is that we have a new holder on field goals now. he wasn't a starter, only has a few catches, and has been targeted less than 10 times.

I could see us still winning more than 8 games but that would be a bet I don't think i'd pull the trigger on. it could be close.

Tell you what. You win fewer than 8 (7-5 or worse), I get $100. 8 is a wash. 9 wins or better, I give you $100.

One of the reasons the cats are ranked so high is because of McGhee.

Exactly and Bleskin is #2 behind an honorable mention NFL prospect. That's the point, if he was number 2 behind some no name QB that would be telling. But, he sits only because of who he follows. I don't care about the ranking as it only counts at the end of the season. I do think Bleskin will be fine, even though the Cats have taken a big hit. Who knows, we might win a few games even! :)

I'm going to predict 2-2 over the next 4, putting you 3-3 going into your bye week. Then you'll beat Weber, UCDavis & UNC, before finishing off the season with 3 straight losses. 6-6...that's the impact of losing an "honorable mention NFL prospect" and replacing him with a RS Fr who's thrown a total of 8 passes in college.

Did you even look at their schedule the next 4 games before you posted that? Who are the 2 losses too in the next 4 games?

Thx. I can't disagree with what you said. I don't know much about Bleskin, but can believe he looks like he has good or very good potential. There is virtually no way there won't be a drop off and probably significant drop off with Bleskin. He should improve as the season goes on. After following the SMU game on gametracker and reading some articles, I will say the Cats are (or were) better than I thought they were. While SMU may be a bit weak, it was still a very nice performance by the Cats.

Hey, suck it. I made a post without a smilie.

And yes, i did look at their schedule. I think they lose 2 of 3 @ SFA, @ UND and home against NAU.

  Typical Griz fan for ya.... stakes his reputation on a 6-6 season but when it comes time to walk the walk he hedges on 3 more wins!!

You guys are priceless! :thumb:

ha. little back-track huh? you predicted 6 wins. I said we'd win more. why would you get $100 if they won more than 6?!

however if you want to stand behind your previous prediction i'll gladly stand by my hundred dollar bet that the cats will win more than that.

1) Colorado Mesa: No way they lose to Mesa. Get real.
2) SFA: Weber scored 50 on SFA, and had 315 yards rushing. Cats will run the ball all day.
3) UND: Even less affective at stopping the run as SFA. Again, Cats will run the ball all day.
4) NAU: This one could be a battle. MSU homecoming. NAU can run the ball, and that looks like a weakness for the MSU front. Hard to tell where NAU is defensively, as their only game thus far is against Arizona who rushed for 300+.

MSU could do nothing but run the ball for the next month, taking a ton of heat off Bleskin, and still be 3-1/4-0.

You guys are praying that the sky just fell in Bozeman, and I have news for you, it did not.

Sweet Jesus...they're dropping like flies. :| :| :|

It doesn't matter, it wont affect them, haven't ya heard the Bobcats have depth for days. Heard they were changing their name to the Montana State Depthcats, shit we wont even notice these guys aren't out on the field.

If you believe some Cat posters, the Cats are so deep and prepared that they have multiple back up conference MVP's and Payton watch list players lined up to take over for McGhee and anyone else who gets hurt. They won't miss a beat. No one will miss McGhee. The CMR coach once said Bleskin reminded him of DD. Further proof that the Cats have a conference MVP and Payton award winner ready to take over. The evidence to support this is so strong that even some Griz posters are helping spread the word to Griz nation. Someone should start a roll call thread to have all UM egriz posters go on record agreeing that the Cats will not miss a beat, and UM should be careful what it wishes for.
I know, right? And when you type your opinion up they wanna attack you. I don't believe a thing about what they believe Bleskin can do. I just read an article on FB that he is 5/8 and 46 yards over his career. Yes, I realize he is young and I'm not cuttin on the kid but how is anyone able to make an accurate assessment of what he can do with this stat? I'm not buyin it. For one, I seem him play against Monmouth and he didn't do a whole heck of a lot, 5/8 and 46 yards. I think he was in for most of the 4th Quarter. I'm not buying it for a second. If he gets out there and does make big plays, and not against anyone in their cupcake schedule in the next few weeks, against a formidable opponent, I might raise an eyebrow. But until then....

So your saying UND is a cupcake? I think I will take the opinion of his OC and Head Coach over yours. Just sayin! We will all see on Saturday what he does!

Well, ok. There's one team you'll face that could cause trouble. But C'mon, Weber, SFA, UCD, and a bye week. NAU has potential to do some damage to but if the games are even close against them other team that would normally be an ass whoopin with DM running the show, msu is in for trouble. I'm guessing 6-6 or maybe 5-7 when it's all said and done. IMO.

You guys are really playing into the schizophrenic griz fan stereotype. Many of you post about how overrated McGhee is and then when he gets hurt you state how the cats cant live without him.

Truth is McGhee is good. Truth is the cats have good depth. The truth is the cats don't accomplish what they have the last 3 years without a team effort. Truth is they probably won't be as good without him, but don't underestimate the cats. These are not the cats of Solomonson or Hysell or even Kramer. They have upgraded the athleticism of the entire team and are relevant again and with the facility improvements, they are likely here to stay.

The biggest mistake you can make is to underestimate your enemy. The cats have a schedule very advantageous to breaking in a new quarterback.

Bleskin is an upgrade at QB. Ol' Clownshoe has always been over-rated. Offensively the cats won't miss a beat, its the defense that will let them down. Too many injuries to what was an already weak unit. Once they get into conference play, they're gonna get worked. If I were a cat fan I'd be dreading this years Brawl (well, if I were a cat fan, I'd have shown a little dignity and chosen the suicide option many years ago).

I see your point, 100% but with 3 cores now shot in the ass, or half shot, you'd have to guess that the moral of the team is dwindling a bit. Not sayin it is, but Ash seemed kinda shaken in the news release yesterday about all the injuries. I'm not gonna under estimate them but when you say they're here to stay, we're they ever here in the first place? I mean 1-4 in the playoffs isn't here, let alone here to stay.

 I can agree here. He can run the read pretty well but some of the inconsistencies makes for an overrated player. That's how I see it. If they just woulda taken the loss last weekend, this thread wouldn't exist. But they lost in more than one way. Clownshoe is done, possibly for the season along with a couple others.
