McGhee out til October

I wish Darius McGhee a speedy return--he strikes me as a class kid, and what a bummer to have to stay on the sidelines and watch his team for 3-4 games, while he heals and rehabs, especially during his senior season !!!

Hopefully, McKinney or Gustafson could step up if JJ goes down. McKinney has good mobility and speed, but last year he couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with most of his throws. Supposedly, he worked long and hard on his passing during the offseason. He did play quite a bit last year until replaced later in the year by SSH.

Hopefully, we don't have to find out, but I do hope if we have a big lead in the 3rd or 4th Qtr, JJ gets to rest and his heir apparent, be it Trent or BG, gets some badly needed time and experience under center. (Nothing against SSH--he has a decent arm, but the foot speed of the drews: Drew Miller or Bledsoe. While we may have moved away from the spread, QB's still have to be mobile and SSH is definitely not a threat to outrun anyone but my grandma !!!)

I could say something about karma but I'm not gonna go down that road. Hopefully he heals soon.

What could McGhee have possibly done to deserve suffering an injury that keeps him out of 4-5 games of his senior and final season?

And don't give me all that "Cat fans gave JJ crap last year" stuff, because that (while mostly untrue anyway) has nothing do with McGhee, who is a class act and a great person.

My guess is that he's not talking about McGhee or what happened to him. He's talking about what has happened to Cat fans. Some Cat fans dissed JJ and UM last year, and now the bad karma has come back to haunt them. Also, some wonder if there's bad karma from dropping NDSU and taking SMU.
This!
Thank you PR.

Sh*t.

Shoulder injuries are never good. I separated my AC joint 14 months agi & it still isn't 100%. This is probably going to bother him for a long time.

Thoughts & prayers for Denarius.

Really is too bad for McGhee. He's a top-notch kid who didn't deserve this. I hope he's back as soon as possible.

That said, I really have no sympathy for (most) cat fans here. All that magical depth you've been blubbering about better come through. :thumb:

Better hope he's back by NAU, or you very well could be 2-4 after that one. ;)

Nothing can be changed. DM is out for a while. I never wished it upon him. Nor would I ever. But it is what is and now it's the cat fans turn to watch their team struggle. Luckily for them is that it's only a few weeks and not an entire season. And I'll say it again, I truly hope Mr. McGhee makes a speedy recovery and is back on the field very soon. I wouldn't wish injury on anyone. I think it's morbid and about half twisted.

Yes - all Cat fans deserve bad karma because they talked about the JJ situation (as well as anyone who talked about JJ). Who cares about the many who emphathized with the situation, showed support or reserved judgement. They deserve the karma of a young man getting hurt and a portion of his career put on hold/lost because he was playing hard.

Yes - all Cat fans deserve bad karma because they had a hand in changing the schedule, particularly the NDSU game. No one cares that it happens elsewhere or that it made financial sense. Heck, any injury to a Cat player serves those fans right for changing the schedule.

I'm glad Griz fans don't ever say anything about any other team so we deserve karma in return...
You're a moron. The fans had nothing to do with changing the schedule.

Sarcasm Sheldon, yes that is sarcasm.

Let the panicking begin in Bozo.

Hope DM has a speedy recovery. He's a good guy!

No panic in Bozeman. We have a #2 that is well prepared, smart, very talented and has an excellent, accurate arm. We also have a good #3 in Prukrop. Bleskin gets an opportunity to show what he can do. I feel confident he will step-up.

I still don't understand how DM and a few others got hurt against SMU when the real body-bag game is this weekend against a hapless d-2 school. Please explain. Thanks! :thumb:

The loss of JJ would be horrible.

So you're saying that when JJ graduates we'll be "horrible?"

No, of course not. Somebody else would step in.

Thank you for letting me clear you up.

I know some people from Kittieville who say McGhee is a fine young man with outstanding character, and in my book life lessons like those count for more than football.

I hope he has a speedy recovery so we can bury the best come Nov. 23 in the litter box.

Maybe after next year the Griz will have someone ready to step up. As of right now? Not so much. Did sleep through last season?

I like the Irish lad. He is a quality QB and about half the cat offense. I hope he heals quickly and has a chance to shine in his senior season. Good luck Mr McGhee.

Ask a coach. That's where I heard it from. Injuries can happen in any game-at your level teams, playing up or playing down. What Coach Kramer said made sense to me, that when you play down players are less skilled and do stupid things that can cause injuries.

DM is the primary player responsible for the success of the Bobcats. Without him, they remain a good team, but not nearly as good. As others have said, I hope he is fully recovered by Griz-Cat as I want the Griz to beat the best state college has to offer.

Totally agree, injuries can happen no matter who you play. But when you're playing against people that are bigger, faster and stronger I believe injuries are more prevalent. I just hope you're wrong since we both play crappy lower level teams in the coming weeks.

SMU wasn't any bigger than us or stronger. They had the edge on speed but it wasn't that great. Like I said, ask a coach and get their opinion. Your right, I hope we both come out of this game without more injuries.

Really sucks that DM is out for awhile, but I guess I look at the only positive I can think of. It's gonna give Bleskin or Prokup a chance to get some real game experience. All teams are one hit or a graduation away from needing a new quarterback anyway.

I think depth is the big factor and for the most part, an FBS team will have more.....maybe not in SMU's case however. Either way, just giving you some grief. I feel terrible for DM though. Injuries suck no matter what, but during your last year is tough to take.
