Locker Rooms...

That weight room is hideous! It is the fault of every Griz fan that we don't have the best...especially the Griz fans that post on EGriz...someone on this site is always complaining about our locker room and weight room. Like grizatwork wrote, lets put our money where your mouth is...I believe every griz fan could donate a minimum of $25 for a month to build a new facility. At 50,000 fans that would equal 15 million dollars in one year. How much does a facility like this cost?..Brint?

You mean all those same fans who bitch about how much tickets cost? Those fans?

I proudly pay my $504 per seat with GSA fees. I have seven seats, how much of my ticket price goes toward facility upgrades I wonder? I would like to see what exactly my tix money supports.

The sad part is that these pictures don’t do it justice (or rather injustice)

You guys would shit a brick if you saw our facilities in person.

They give tours, any fan could go down there and meet up with anyone in the GSA offices or administration offices and they'll walk people through. I'd highly encourage fans to do it

Absolutely agreed.

I’ve sent a few people over to take a tour (especially the ones that bitch about things like ticket prices and assume we have the “best”). They were unanimously shocked by how bad it is. One in particular has been a season ticket holder for three decades and said he was completely unaware it was this bad.

Getting the word out is step one in the battle.

I am shocked. I was at UM before we started to dominate and could walk into WGS and pretty much choose my seat. I haven't spent a whole lot of time in Missoula since then. After the long run of success, I have been under the impression that we do have the best. The best stadium, weight room, locker room, campus....... It shows very well on TV. Great looking uniforms, lots of options and a first class stadium. Not to mention a pretty damn good product on the field. This program has to be making a lot of money for the U and for the U to not support them with first class facilities is appalling. I now understand why some of these recruits are choosing to go elsewhere. If we're going to continue to recruit FBS athletes, we're going to have to show them more than what we've got. I always thought the game day experience would be enough to lure any borderline FBS athlete to UM. But seeing/hearing of the how the facilities are run down/obsolete, it wouldn't surprise me if some of these guys choose to go elsewhere only because of the facilities. It has got to be a huge turn off for these guys.

Ha ha... that's a complete joke. Pipe dream. Egriz? Ya... no way in hell these posters are going to say, "sure... I'll kick in in $25.00 per month to updgrade the weight room!". They'd rather just bitch and moan when you don't win the national championship and call for players to get benched and coaches to be fired. 50,000? Apparently people don't understand that 90% of griz fans are bandwagoners and could give ea rip about facilities as long as the team wins, the scoreboard is amazing, and Monte is still dancing. If you launched a campaign like that in egriz... you'd get roughly 7 takers.

Unfortunately PoorGriz you are probably spot on with your comment...I would have better luck getting the Bobcat posters on here to donate!

My guess, only a small portion. I know the GSA is matching donations for upgrades so that's about it. The rest is going to the GSA's annual commitment to pay for student scholarships and part of their administration.

The GSA offices are very forthcoming about it, call Greg Sundberg and ask him. 243-6481

There is absolutely no way these are serious questions…………..
Why?

I have never donated to the general fund and do not know how the process works. If I decide to donate I don't want my name out there, for business and logistical reasons.

Ask great grandpa Mick, he will give you some direction. Now run along and play.

I am not related to Mick, but I am related to 2 former players. We laugh at this place for people being dickheads like most are being in this thread. Now you can run along

Is there a limit as too how much one can donate to UM?

Nope, this isn't a political campaign.

If you donate a very large amount is there a way to remain anonymous or does this become public record?

I can't tell you officially, however I do know that in the past prior donations have been made which were never revealed to be public. The person to talk to about that is Dan Ingram: http://www.supportum.org/aboutus/contactus/staffdirectory/staffpages/daningram.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

If the weight room facilities are as bad as you people are saying, why haven't the student athletes looked into using other facilities around Missoula? Missoula has a Golds Gym and doesn't Blue Mountain still have a weight training room? I would look for alternatives to solve the current problem instead of settling for what is showed in the pictures.

Many student athletes use the top notch campus gym that is open to all students.

I'm sorry, but with how much revenue the athletic programs produce you'd think the university would take care of the locker room & weight room situation. Absolutely ridiculous.
