And Mick to the podium. Long applause and lots of cheers
"This situation for a poor old mining kid from butte is amazing. But its not about me, its about the kids. We're going to work hard on and off the field.".
"Our players and coaches have made a 100% commitment to do what they have always wanted to. That won't change."
I don't think the athletic dept. has a choice but to make delaney head coach for a couple of years. The program needs stability to weather the storm. If i were an assistant coach and the head coach was interim then i'm thinking about next year and my next job which means i'm distracted and not able to focus full time.
Predictable. Anybody really surprised? No disrespect to Mick, but UM always follows the path of least resistance when it comes to athletic hires...on the other hand, would anybody outside of the nepotic Griz family really want to risk their career in a very chaotic situation? ....Will we be any less surprised with the AD pick?... In the meantime good luck, old fella!
I wonder if there is a clause in the contract that says if there are NCAA punishments his contract will be extended past those, this was the case for the Penn State coach just got his deal for another 4 years. I know he may not want to coach that long but I wonder if that is in there at all.
