And it is you, dude! I guess you don't remember hi-jacking my thread by your childish name-calling, only two days ago. Grow up!

And, no degree from NAU is more valuable on a resume than one from UVA, which is one of the Top 10 universities in the country. The exception may be a degree in Hotel Management, which NAU claims to specialize in. I don't even think UVA offers such a wimpy degree.

Top 10. That's a f***[*] joke, right?

Harvard
Yale
Cornell
Penn
Princeton
Brown
Dartmouth
Columbia
Stanford
Duke
MIT
Johns Hopkins
Northwestern
Notre Dame
UC-Berkley
Georgetown

There's 16 right there. Off the top of my head. You want a journalism degree, you go to the University of Missouri. You want a medical degree you go to Johns Hopkins. You want to open doors all over the country, you go to Ivy League, Stanford or Duke. Not UVa.

My original question was an honest question, with no malice intended. The fact that you take every comment made to you the way you do speaks volumes about your maturity and general level of assholishness.

Yeah, I'm real immature. I sit on the board for two companies, who pay me lots of money to sit there in meetings and make immature comments. Get a clue. Your use of assholishness demonstrates once again to all what I am referring to with you.

Oh, by the way, you are obviously a flaming liberal who thinks that all Ivy League schools rank in the Top 10 university. WRONG! The Top 10 universities in the nation, according to most rankings, are, in no order since there is very spirited debate as to that order: Princeton, Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Northwestern, Virginia, Duke, Dartmouth, UC-Berkeley, & Michigan.

I've NEVER heard anyone argue a case for UVa....really, it's comical. And you're the one who insisted on getting into a name calling contest--you demonstrate your assholishness with every post you make. You call me a liberal again, and I'll challenge your sorry ass to a duel in the Mo Club.

Just shows that you don't know what you're talking about. You just listed every Ivy League school and said they were all Top 10. Not even CLOSE, dude! If you don't about the stellar academic reputation of UVA, then you need to do some research. Their law school is ranked #3 in the nation, by the way.

So, now you want to fight me, a 66 year old man??? Woooo! Tough guy, you are!

Great. #3 Law school. Is this kid going to be a lawyer? Didn't think so...

And don't ever call me a liberal again. Them's fightin' words.

Did you even bother to look at the criteria for ranking the colleges in the Forbes article? It had ZERO to do with ranking for academic excellence, and was totally about getting the best education "for the money". Yeah right, I'm gonna attend their number 1 ranked school, Williams College of Massachusetts over Harvard or Stanford. And I've got some beach front property in Riverton, Wyoming for ya too! You're trying a little to hard to make me look bad, when you don't know what you're talking about. :thumb:

The USNWR rankings are all that anyone cares about, right or wrong.

Taking Growler's assertions in order:

1. UVA top 10 college in the nation = False. While consistently ranked in the top 5 PUBLIC Universities in the nation (with Berkeley, Michigan, and UCLA), UVA is not top 10 overall.

National Universities:

Public Universities:

2. UVA Law School is ranked #3 in the nation = False. Yale, Harvard, Stanford have been the top three for decades. UVA is very good, however. Currently in a three-way tie for 8th with Duke and Berkeley. I concede that might be top 3 using Cat logic.

LS Rankings:

Hope this helps.

EDIT: *three-way tie for 8th

The Trail of Tears would be - by a significant margin -- the best thing in this thread.

Are you kidding? Watching Dill get beaten about the head and shoulders in this thread has been well worth the price of admission. 8-)

Nice try. Us News & World report is a liberal, almost far-left wing publication. It's ranking are all skewed towards the liberal institutions, such as the Ivy League schools. I am a business man, and former CEO of a multi-million dollar company. I currently sit on two boards. I attended a six-week business course at Wharton.

Business people of my caliber know which universities graduate the most business-ready individuals, which is why we hire from those universities. I would NEVER hire any graduate from Brown, or Columbia. But, UVA grads are among the most coveted hires, because of their well-rounded and PRACTICAL education, making them more ready to hit the ground running after being hired.

It seems like ages ago but I remember when this thread was about a football player...that game that this forum is reportedly about. ;) ;)
