Lets set a new Wa Griz noise record vs EWU

OK Griz Nation. I'm coming to you once again for your help. This weekend, on EWU's first possession of the game I'd like the crowd to show just how loud they can get. (Quite frankly it would be great if we could do it all day long).

While there's no "official" number that I'm aware of an ESPN article listed a high of 108.5.

I believe that the crowd in the OT portion of the CPSLO game was even louder. It's time to duplicate that noise. EDIT: UPDATE - the UM also has something in the works to help promote this, I'll post word soon!

AlphaGriz1 will be in the north endzone and will measure the decibels and report it back here after the game.

So here's what I ask you:

1. Show up to the game ready to go insane on EWU's first possession

2. Like and share this Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/432632230176067/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

3. Copy and forward this email to all of your Griz fan friends:

Hello,

This weekend as the Griz play the Eastern Washington Eagles we're going to try to break the previously recorded noise record at Washington Grizzly Stadium, which is 108.5 decibels. Please forward this email to every Griz fan you know! On the Eagles first possession of the game, go insane, stand up, scream, clap your hands, make as much noise as possible! There will be people in the stands measuring the noise level and it will be reported back on egriz.com after the game.

Thanks for your support, and Go Griz!

Sincerely,

Brint Wahlberg

Eh, it's typically hard for the home crowd to get pumped up when they are getting curb-stomped.

UPDATE: The UM has something planned as well! I'll post more info once they release it!
I sure hope the UM ties in with Brint and Alpha as we get the decibal readings .The UM could relay the readings onto Griz Viz for the crowd. As we beat the record throughout the game, we could continue to raise the bar.....for more!
Go Griz!

I think it's safe to say that won't happen this weekend. :thumb:

I want to see mr Adams live in wagriz....he is the proven qb talent in big sky so far. As per noise we'll have to see, noise versus cp was not over the top until the ot....been to every game in wagriz and can attest that it was instantly headache producing pain. Can our fan base sustain that? Guess we will have to see. May the best team win and no injuries to anyone.....

I am old, so deafness helps me when it's loud. But in the OT, my ears hurt for the first time ever. I don't know what it was like on the field, but in row 19 we would never have had a conversation about someone asking you to sit down because you couldn't hear them.

Pretty sure EWU played UW in past couple years when they had relocated to Century Link while the "old" stadium was being renovated. Century Link seems to be known as a loud stadium but can imagine not quite like Seahawks games when EWU played UW.

The 2011 game was in Husky stadium. Just looked at the official stats. Yes, Seahawks stadium is incredibly loud. The loudest place I've ever been. I've been almost on the field in those field level suites in the end zone. Uncomfortably loud.

Is it possible for EWU fans to not be jerks in every single thread there is on here? Wow...

It shows what low class fans and people they are--at least most of the ones who come onto egriz. There used to be a couple I liked, though.

They're not all bad but it sure seems like the majority of their fanbase that are morons are online...

I admire the effort, should be fun. Don't forget Eastern played at UW in 2011 in front of 57,000 in 2011, Wazzu in 2012-35,000, OSU this year 42,000, Toledo this year-26,000 and a rowdy Sam Houston Crowd. They will be very used to the crowd noise and actually thrive on it, so yes bring it. I'm guessing when EWU leads 21-0 at the end of the 1st, the noise will die. This should be a great game if both teams play there A games. If either team plays subpar as both have done this year, the other could easily win. Tough one to predict, I still the the Eags ,already played in 3 tough games this year, all better than NAU and CPU. But, the Griz at home win at 88%. EWU has won there 33% of it's games (4 of 12). Also, 2 great QB's in Adams and JJ!! Also, I'll be there.

Adams has never played in EWU. We'll see if he can hear, and whether he gets rattled.

He hasn't?

;)

Tough to post on this board without it getting lost in the smack.

In all reality, this is going to be a great game. This game scares the hell out of me as an EWU fan as I think it is, by far, our toughest challenge in our remaining games. The Griz always play well at home, and as good as EWU typically plays in WA Griz it hasn't resulted in a lot of wins. The Griz really don't have that quality win yet (although Cal Poly is better than their record) but you have beat the teams on your schedule.

The noise will be a factor, but not a big one, EWU will play well. Eastern will run a speedy, no huddle offense and try to score early to take the crowd out of it.

Even the Griz have to admit, you have to be excited to watch Adams play? He's turning into a star and has shown he is consistent this year. I'm excited to see JJ play and hope Van can play for the Griz as well (gotta appreciate talent whether its your team or the opposition).

Looking forward to a great day, great game, and a great Eagle win.

The game can well be a classic, lets hope both eagles and griz bring their best, big time players and environment promises perhaps 60 plus minutes of frenzy.....

The ones that come over usually aren't much better. Gang of dumbasses usually sitting in front of me during these games.

You'd be angry and obnoxious to if you had to stare at that used tampon they call a football field all day.

We're like mirrors. If you're a dick, you'll get a dick back. If you're cool, you'll get cool back. Weird how that works.

Sitting? Hell, in 2011 I was in the NEZ and asked to sit by the Griz fans behind me who were all sitting...

I am excited to see Adams in person, I didn't go the EWU game last year so I didn't see him then. Much like seeing Taiwan Jones a few years back or Rodney Stuckey on the court in Dahlberg EWU has some incredible athletes that are worth the price of admission to watch. Hopefully they're "fun" to watch, but the game still turns out with a Griz win! :thumb:

My bet is that Adams won't get rattled... he won't be "in awe" by the stadium or the noise. Im not saying the crowd won't play a part, there may be a couple false starts or something, but I've watched Adams enough, and he along with rest of the Eagles have been in enough BIG GAMES lately that they're not going to piss down their legs like most teams do when they come in there. McGhee and Adams are winners. They don't get nervous or scared... they just go in and play football.

I'd agree with that entirely. Playing @OSU, @Toledo, & @SHSU has this EWU team road-tested for sure.
