Let's Dance! (Game thread)

Also, three strikes in a row in bowling is called a turkey, 27 straight outs in a baseball game is called a perfect game...but, what is losing 9 straight basketball games called? That's what I can't figure out.

EDIT: bigpapa beat me to it.

Did I stutter? When you have the lead for 75% of the game and lose, that's called choking.[/quote]

I'm pretty sure it's called being shitty at basketball, like the Cats were, if I get your drift. I'm not sure how that is a valid "comeback," because it's pretty obvious they had a terrible year. I'm just saying that this team was the team to beat, bar none, and they fell off the earth. You can make fun of the Cats all you want, but it doesn't hide the fact that the Griz were THE team to beat, and lost to inferior competition. They ran out of gas at the end. Selvig should be first in line, because he didn't do anything the last 6 games.

Go watch some of the Power Conference reffing. What Montana did to UNC is nothing compared to how physical those teams get. When UNC gets to the dance and gets pushed around we will see what happens. When Montana has BQ with 4, Cherry with 4, Selvig with 4, etc. and they have 1 person with 3 it affects how you can play. Not saying Montana was perfect or lights out but it did have an effect on the ending of the game.

I made a post following the Griz loss to EWU, blowing another big second-half lead. The Griz led the NCU game most of the game, only to lose. I stated that they lacked the heart to close games out. I was lambasted for having the audacity to say that. Yet, some can not accept the truth. The Griz nearly blew a 18-point lead against Portland to barely win, and could have easily lost that game. Two days later, they blow a 10-point second half lead against EWU and lose. Then, they lead 75% of the game last night, then miss one-n-ones, turn the ball over, foul a three-point shooter from 5 feet beyond the arc in the last 2 minutes. These are things that the great teams don't do. They close-out games in the second half, and play error-free basketball during crunch time. The Griz have shown me no ability to do this during this season. Just sayin'.

i think people took exception to the "no heart" comment. i know i did. i think your points about the team are actually truthful. but telling a team of athletes they don't have heart is pretty much the worst thing you could say.

missing free throws, turning the ball over, fouling shooters are all mistakes for sure. but all teams make them. who do you consider great? duke? kansas? texas? pitt? because all of these teams have had poor stretches, stupid mistakes, scoring droughts, and lapses in judgement.....but not likely lack of heart.

mistakes don't equal lack of heart in my opinion....
