Sadly, I knew how this game was going to end when the Griz had 26 seconds and the ball in a tie game on the road to determine the conference champion and they go for the last shot of the half...needless to say, it was not a good move and No Colorado was just as hapless in not scoring as a result. Sure, referee calls favored the Colorado team, but, honestly, with the way the Griz have played the past couple of weeks, is anyone really surprised or upset about this? 2 7 footers and no one rebounds but the forward? C'mon, folks, this team simply didn't have it this year...and next year, without qvale is going to be dicey....NoColorado is going to be blown away in the tourney...bad....

i agree with you 100%. Selvig... all he has going for him is his name and family legacy at the U. Otherwise he is an uncoordinated pole

Sorry. I agree with Ronbo. It's time to get out of this POS conference and play at a level Montana deserves to play at. I'm sick and tired of dealing with the incompetency of the big sky conference, and then on top of it to belong in a conference that doesn't even get considered even for an NIT bid, say nothing about an at-large NCAA bid.

What are the chances Selvig will be told to and will work hard at becoming a true post player for his Sr season? If he would muscle up some more and really work at banging down low instead of being a 7 foot 2 guard or "small" forward we could be relatively unstoppable next year. Why don't 7 footers perfect a sky hook? It did wonders for Lew Alcindor. Derek needs to reinvent himself for the team.

It's not all about poor officiating. It's about playing in a MUST win game every year, no matter how good you are. Wouldn't it be nice to be in a conference where our RPI could be good enough we'd at least be in the conversation for an at-large? Or how about an NIT bid? My guess is this team gets left out of the NIT, and that sucks. I'd like to play in a league that has at least a CHANCE to send two teams to the tourney.

Remember a couple years back when the Lady Griz were 27-2 with an RPI in the upper 30s, but lost in the conference tournament and got left home? That shouldn't happen, and wouldn't if we played in a real DI conference.

I don't want to turn this into a thing, but has there been any talk of moving to a different conference for everything but FB? Many other teams do this, but maybe we don't have the requisite sports, etc. I'd love to see the Griz in the WCC even though it would never happen because we're not a private, faith-based school.

Crackgina, I think the peeps who suggest that a move would result in better officiating are talking mostly about physicality (i.e., not calling every bump a foul), not missed out of bounds calls. I could be wrong though.

Are you saying if you were in the WAC, you would have won and beat Utah St.? What killed you was the Selvig averaged 6 points the last 6 games and averaged 5.5 REBOUNDS per game all season! It boggles my mind how a 7 foot man can't grab more than 5 rebounds a game. Blame the refs, but this team crumbled down the stretch. They should have won this tournament easily, and they faltered. They had every chance to win, and didn't.
