TG turned down DC job at Hawaii.

Didn't pay enough? Too cold.....and loud?

Double his current pay.

Interesting. So it was the weather and the noise.

Cost of living in Honolulu is insane, though. Hopefully it's more than just a doubling of his salary. My work paid for a two-month rental there last summer while I was on a project on the 23rd floor of a building near downtown and it was over $3000/month for a small two-bedroom place.

The smell of fresh air is simply a "gas" for the many cat tolls while announcing their # 1 ranking that always holds in the eyes of the blind, deaf and dumb. (That is until the season begins)

Meanwhile good luck to Legi.

It is perfectly understandable that Cat fans are giddy about this -that program has rarely had 1 coach that was good, much less 2. It is inconceivable to them that a program could have several good coaches at the same time. If the Cats ever lost 2 good coaches in the same year it would break their dreams of another pre-season banner. Of course the concept that you could replace 2 good coaches with 2 equally good or better coaches is completely outside of their reasoning ability.

You guys are 100% spot on. Cat fans shouldn't be taking shit
..but does stating facts qualify? My observation is that you lost a ton of defensive players, lost two of your best coaches, and are commited to stitts system, which by anyone's standards was under whelming at best. That's a lot of change that isn't conducive to a positive trend. Not to mention that absolute dumpster fire that um has become academically.

Pretty certain you haven't seen a lot of Stitts "system" yet. This offense will take time as everyone expected.... for existing players to learn, execute quickly and mostly for Stitt to have some guys in there that he feels are a better fit for his vision. Not a bad run for his first year though, all things considered.

These things take time. You will need plenty of patience the next few years in the litter box.

Spot on. The mainlanders that go there in search of lifestyle can't earn enough money to ever leave.....The population density sucks too. There's a lot of friggin' people on that island. Traffic is a bear....

That's a fair point. It took a couple seasons for Cramsey's offense to take off.

Sorry but Cat Fans, this has nothing to do with you. PFO.

Coach Legi was a man and a machine for us. He brought us kids we wouldn't have gotten and coached up the ones we did. The man is going to a much higher paying job and in a place where he fits like a round peg in a round hole. Good luck to a man who bled maroon and silver and MANU SAMOA! to his new position. I wouldn't want to play his front seven anytime soon, he will have them eating taro and pissing kava

Maybe a pre-game Haka too....

Maybe if he were Maori. As a Samoan, he might promote a game day sa'a. But since he's now coaching in Hawai'i, he'll probably institute a ha'a.

Similar ideas, slightly different languages for the three slightly divergent Polynesian cultures. All fierce in battle, I might add. ;)

Good point.... I just couldn't resist. This is partly why rugby is so bad ass...

Along that same line, RIP Jonah Lomu. A great All Black. Probably one of the top five ever rugby players.....

At least he got a better job than Gregorak

Amen. Funny Legi hasn't needed to toot his own horn about how good he is and how he wants to be head coach somewhere, move up to FBS, be an NFL coach, etc. etc. Not saying there's a problem with having goals but humility goes a long way in achieving them. Legi is moving UP because he's a damn good coach and humble as well. No better mentor for players than Legi. He will be missed.

Odd decision for a guy who, when he took the cat job, said it's always been a dream to coach at the fbs level.

Think about possible timing. Think about considerations of having a kid from a prior marriage. Things like that can factor in.

Yeah, I get that stuff; Hawaii is a long way away. But wouldn't you then agree his stated reason for leaving UM rings hollow? Why, if you just allegedly turned down an fbs job, would you state that as the reason for going to a non-fbs team?

Lots of good coaches came out of MSU to the FBS. Go back to Dennis Ericson with his two National Championships, Jim Sweeney has the stadium named after him at Fresno State, Sonny Lubick at Colorado State, Joe Tilller went on to do a good job at Purdue, Jim McElwain, OC at MSU now at Forida as HC after being OC at Alabama. Kramer had Pete Kwiakowski now DC at UDUB after holding that position at Boise State, Marcel Yates the current OC at Boise State and Junior Adams. Kramer also had Jason McEndoo now with Oklahoma State. Ash had Brian Wright that went on to Florida Atlantic as OC and then inbterim head coach winning four straight. He also had a tight ends coach (name escapes me) that does the same at Auburn. Also a wide receivers coach, Brian VonBergen, now at Miami of Ohio. I have probably missed many more over the years.

If Stitt does a good job he will find two better coaches then were there previously.
