Sure, TG doesn't make adjustments. Some of you UM posters are truly idiots, and obviously never played the game and know absolutely nothing about it. You are embarrassments to Griz football and to yourselves.
the only adjustment......necessary....was Petrino sticking with Linehan......dude wouldn't start on most Pop Warner teams.......
Cal Poly? Weber? NDSU? Are you suggesting that sticking with a failing QB, or one obviously having a bad game, in a given game is a flaw? Seriously?

Yeah. No. Not even comparable. Linehan is horrible....and they've known that for 2 years. He couldn't hold Bardy's jock.

Not even Bardys? What has Bardy ever done in a game that makes you think he is better.....And who the hell is Bardy!

Bardy is best in space. Obviously

This game was a pretty pathetic display of football by both sides. One kudo to Ty. With the amped up bliztes and knocking Limphand on his ass in the third series and thereafter, he started rushing his throws, especially short ones and lost all technique. Every defense now knows what to do with that douche. And Petrino/his OC are idiots. Cats couldn't stop the run. Spuds put up 400 yards rushing if they take the ball out of the QB's hand. And Spuds score 50.

Thank you all for watch the game. As a Cat fan, I saw some major positives, and some major negatives......I will now try to convince my wife that the amount I drank tonight is a coronation of those two thing....

Well, in using "coronation" for "combination" I would say you are not off to a good start. I hope she buys it, we've all been there. #sleepingonthecouch

Bardy is best in space. Obviousl y
Also, obviously Bardy played the game.

When the Spud running back broke thru the line and there wasn't a Cat within 7 yds. we all started yelling TY, TY, TY as he ran to the endzone. There's Ty's gift to the opposition and it cost the Cats the game. Get use to it Cat Fans you will see it every game. Any team with either of these guys on their schedule should be licking their chops. It was probably Idaho's only win and it won't be the Cat's last loss.

And Idaho home games should only be allowed to broadcast over the radio, the visual experience was terrible.

35 for 211, at 6.4 ypc.

If the spudniks had had a QB who could throw at the Little Grizzly level, that game is a blowout. You can't give up 211, 6.4 and call it a successful defensive effort.

Taking into account that you don't know much about the game and never played, I will try to explain some things to you.

Holding Ida to 0 points in the 2d half, 3 points after the first quarter, and 20 points for the game is good. Last season, no Cat opponent gained fewer yards and only one (SS) scored fewer points, excluding Fort Lewis. Holding Ida to 2-11 in 3d down conversions and 0-3 4th down conversions is very very good. Getting the pick on the goal line late in the game is also very good. Yes, the very good Ida running back had several too many longer (and very nice) runs, which resulted in the nice run average for Ida.

Choate praised the defensive effort. Of course, what does he know? He's only been a defensive coach for his entire professional life.

He had worse than "a bad game." Chalich would have been a big improvement. Hard to see how he put up numbers last year.

The receivers dropped at least a handful of balls too. Idaho averaged over 30 points per game last year, and about a 100 more yards of total offense.

Garbage game? I thought the Cats showed a much improved Defense. You can downplay and spin it all you want but the Cats D showed up. Offense needs to clean things up, and special teams is definitely a work in progress. MSU did a bit better than most of you guys were predicting a few days ago....but of course, that's because Idaho would be beat by Rocky not because MSU is improved.... #Can'twaitforStFrancis #WhotheFuc#isStFrancis?

This post is just meant for the guys with their heads up their asses.
Rocky vs Idaho. What a novel thought. Petrino vs Petrino.

Idaho's offense looked anemic. Cats defense is improved but will get burned against the run since they often over pursue. Cat offense needs weeks of fine tuning to be consistent.

Is this a one off or are we going to have to endure an entire season of your hackneyed and cherry picked analysis of Tyler Gregorak's defensive coaching performance? If the latter, please consider a thread dedicated to the subject.

I guess if we would have played the game, we would knows that being 0-1 is just about the best thing a football team could hope for.

Well, on a thread about the Cats' first game, the observations are not only appropriate, but certainly a big boost for Cat hopes on that end of the game. It's only one game, but no matter how much people who suddenly came to disparage TG bitch about him, this game didn't give them anything to work with, and very much resembled TG's performance at Montana: adjustments that substantially stymies offenses in the second half. From that standpoint, even with working with a previously failed defensive team, under TG they resembled Montana of the past more than the Cats of the past. Only one game, but there it was.

Cat D actually looking quite promising for such an early game. It’s a good thing that we will have Idaho’s SECOND STRING — or was he third — to go against them if Gustafson is injured when that game comes around. After all, that’s a late season game and BG may very well be out by then.
We don't play the vandals this year, though I wish we did. Overall, I feel that was a great effort by msu, especially the D.

That's not the question or the context of my post. Some posters have regularly disparaged TG. PR has regularly defended TG. It is now an agenda for him. PR doesn't usually easily let go of these agendas. They become about him and he will wear the fucking keypads off of his phone posting about this agenda all season long.
