Justin Green to Washington State

Love the idea of Chase Reynolds and what about Justin Green's old GRIZ battery mate, Lex Hilliard ?

Maybe this is wishful thinking, but I see Justin as our future head coach. !!! Good on him--I hope this WAZZU move works out well for him and his family. !!!
With lex’s personal struggles i’d rather him stay far away from Griz football. Great player but everything i’ve heard about the person he should just keep away from it.

Glad to see everyone is still opining the idea of a nepotism hire. Why hire the best guy when you can hire a former player.
A big part of coaching is cooperation among the coaches and working together. That is part of what is "best". Coaches usually hire people they know or have some relationship with. They don't run around hiring random people who have a good reputation. Having a coach who understands the program is also a positive.

Shit that is not a good sign. This is terrible news. Congrats to Justin but he was an integral part of Griz football for a lot of years. The ripple effect this is going to have for the program is going to be huge.
What’s also not a good sign is Eli’s rb coach going to Washington State and his Fiances soccer coach going to Washington State and then both having a redshirt senior year.

Super happy for Coach Green. The Griz have been blessed to have him as long as he has been in Missoula, this was an expectation every year for the last decade that finally came to be.
I am hoping Eli doesn't go (doubt he will, but I have been wrong before) but could this be where Fonoti lands? Timing seems off though. I hope it doesn't cost us Jones or the incoming Freshman Courtney Rogers.

Hauck's network is expansive. He's been in the business for a very long time. He most definitely knows a lot more people than just former players. There are people he could trust and do a great job that didn't wear the UM uniform, not to mention have more coaching experience than Robby or Chase Reynolds.

That is good info 😅 Gives some good relief.
Also I don’t think Monte would get a FBS offer yet, he does not have the game tape for it. By the time he would accumulate enough tape for a better offer Eli will have exhausted all of his eligibility. I think both want to play with each other

Look don't get me wrong, I love Justin Green. He's done a great job both with the RB's and as the recruiting coordinator, and he's a Griz through and through. However, he has been here a really long time, and we've talked about the old heads and maybe the sense of complacency they've had. I know Green isn't particularly old and I certainly don't think he's one of the ones we can accuse of getting complacent, but fresh faces can be a good thing.

I have no idea who Bobby might hire for either role, but if he were to bring in a young up and coming RB Coach or a more veteran guy similar to Bobby Kennedy who got to work with Gillman and Jones, that could do wonders for both of them. Is it possible that Gillman could hit another level? Could we turn Jones into the 1B option where he's on a very similar level to Gillman with hardly any drop off? I think all those things could be possibilities. I'll miss Justin for sure, but this could be a good thing as a whole for the coaching staff and the team. Who knows? Maybe there will be even more staff changes and new faces that could make a world of a difference. Look at how many coaches the cats had to replace last year. It worked out pretty well for them.

good for him! he's been having success at the fcs level for a very long time, and he deserves a better payday. look at all the great rb's he's recruited and coached - there's no way he didn't have other opportunities that paid better. he's not getting any younger, it's time to take higher paying jobs. i hope for him he stays at wsu for a year or two, then gets snagged by a p4 program, and receives a real payday for once.
