And come to think of it, no "free enterprise" among the major American sports leagues either.
If there were, all the small market and incompetent large market teams would go wonder.
If not for the "socialism" of the owners, there would be no OKC in basketball or Buffalo in football.
I'm talking about the draft, where the worst draft first, and the luxury tax, where rich owners are prevented from buying winning teams.
So how did this "socialism" work out for the owners?
Oh, not too bad. The average NFL franchise has increased 4000% over the past 30 years.
Joe Lacob bought the Warriors for $450 million in 2010 but valued 15 years later at 9.4 billion.
The very guys who bitch so much about "socialism" are making tons of money by using those very same principles.

You were being negative bringing up the receiver stuff instead of focusing on returner aspect. After he dropped the fair catch attempt, I said: “I would think he'd be a shoe-in for Practice Squad.”

It wasn’t easy to see Bergen wasn’t making the 53. His situation changed after he dropped the punt. It then became “easier” to see that his prospects had dimmed for the 53, but not the PG.

I disagree. If you watch the punt return it was like ball was shot out of a canon. He should have let it go and not called a fair catch. He was trying to hard. That all being said, the 49ers picked up Skyy Moore for a reason and that was before Junior dropped the punt. My take is he was drafted because he has promise but is young and needs more time. I like him and with time I hope he can be great.

Nope. You are wrong. It was an easy fair catch. Not under pressure. Definitely shouldn’t have let it go. 49ers got Moore for no cost to be a receiver, and they have many injuries, and he could pinch hit as a returner. He won’t last long. You know zero about football.

Niners kept him on practice all season so they must see some potential. What do you consider long term in NFL? The average is 3.5 years. So very few have long term.

He has the burst at the right times to play in the NFL long term as a returner if he can get the right opportunity.

3 years which means you are vested or 4 years which gets you to a second contract I would consider long term. I don’t believe practice squad counts toward the 3 or 4 years to achieve those things. It might for getting a second contract I don’t know that for sure but it doesn’t count toward receiving vested benefits.

As Sinclair Lewis cited in one 1927 novel of his...' Socialism...and Communism' are two different notions. Or, as Francis Hutchinson stated back no later than 1745...'Industrial Will cannot exist in a communistic society.' As, or one of his students pointed out in his 'Wealth of the Nations,' published in 1776; 'profit is the goal of all improvement.' Sinclair Lewis also cited, that...'Economic Determinism is conspicuous in its' waste.'
