Junior...

Hmmm maybe junior should have been playing qb.
He did @ Billings Senior--Broncs' starting QB.
( Junior got my attention when in '19 cross-town rivalry between West-Senior @ Daylis Stadium, West blitzes, there are 4-5 Golden Bears 🐻 all over Junior--you see nothing but West's home black and gold all over Junior and then suddenly, the black and gold defenders' pile is getting pushed forward, white, orange 🍊 and black emerges, and Junior races away for a TD. !!! ... I thought to myself, " Did I really just see what I just saw ? " That's when I knew Junior was special. And that's also why Brent Pease used Junior on occasion to pass the ball as a WR.)

Be proud and happy for both Junior and Tommy.

Get off Tommy's ass! He's transitioning and learning a new position at a position he's never played! Should we check Edelman's progress history making the same transition? It took him years to become what he did.
Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Who said we weren't proud and happy for both Junior and Tommy and Dylan and all the other Montanans in the NFL? Go back to bed.

I remember Jimmy Farris’s debut as a Niner in his first exhibition game. Terrell Owens had befriended Jimmy and it was a big story in the press here. But when they put him in a return situation he fumbled the ball. I don’t know that he’d ever returned punts at Montana. He just looked like the moment was too big for him.

Not so Junior. He looked like he belonged. I even think he was shoved when he was out of bounds after his punt return. Should been another 15 yards.

On the slant pass, it was a bit high and zipped awfully fast for a route like that. But the announcer said he should have caught it. I was hoping for a play to get him into space but it didn’t happen.

All in all a fine debut. We’ll be seeing a lot of him this year.

I'm supporting them. Just not liking some idiots being idiotic towards Tommy.
By "idiotic" do you perhaps mean providing reasonable interpretations based on production?

Cause, that's kinda what we do around here. Or on any sports message board for that matter.

GrizRule is one of the few posters on egriz who actually knows and understands football. You are one of them many who don't. Some of the reasonable interpretations you refer to are just plain stupid.

GrizRule absolutely is a great poster.

To the remainder: Good god dude.

Peter Panacy needs to learn how to write in complete sentences. Amazing what passes for journalism these days. But glad to see the fans and team execs becoming enamored with Junior, just like Griz fans.

He had a pass to him that was a little too high he got his hands on the ball tho and couldn't pull it in. Imo that drop was more on the QB. Bradley and Mordecai are garbage, that didn't help any receiver.
Yeah, the box score has 1 punt return for 28 yards, two kickoff returns for 40 with a long of 23 and one target with no receptions. NFL network didn't have the opening kickoff on so I missed that return, but I didn't see a drop and I went to bed at the start of the fourth quarter and checked the stats on the game.
I didn't see where he had one man to beat and got run out of bounds, he was boxed in by two guys on the clip on here as they went out.
I hope those of you on here giving that kind of play by play weren't on the thread complaining about announcers.
Junior did very well though, he has the team made as a returner and that gives him time to work his way into a receiver position more too. Interesting that the Donkeys played most of their first team the entire first quarter.

I think one thing that’s not talked about enough was Junior’s return for TD rate last season. He got so few balls kicked to him that he only had 10 true return opportunities and housed 3 of them. I don’t know if anyone has ever tracked return rates that way but a returner taking 30% of his returns back for TDs is mind blowing to me.
The NFL record is 6.6% by Gale Sayers. He took 6 in 91 returns.
