Junior...

I dunno. One target. One catch. Minus 2 yards. One massively fucked up punt return.

Seems like actual data, since, you know, it comes from the box score and all.
I have a degree in statistics and love data analysis! Glad you are a lover of data too! We must have been in different classes though…my professors may have been morons, but they would have required much more data before making any claims like you have. There is literally almost ZERO data on Tommy and the WR position on tape.

But wait - you have probably attended all of his Raiders practices and have broken down each rep. That would certainly give you more data and may be enough to justify your conclusions. You probably played WR at a high level too. I certainly did neither of those things, so never mind. I’m sure you did that and why you are so convicted in your negative stance on an all American Butte boy. My bad.

Convicted? Gawd damn! The guys' already a con and he hardly got started. Where's the barbed wire? Let's string him up!!!

And around that dangling corpse we can all sing:

"Will the circle be unbroken, by and by lord, by and by..."

P.S. - I know of some putty tat fans asking me if I thought T. Mellott was better that D. Dickenson. Now that's a question to answer after nearly thirty years have passed on, now, ain't it?

If you read the article you would know the writer explained the reasons for his position on TM's fate, that had little to do with the game results. EG was playing a little game of exponential calculation which, on the limited information (sample size), logically leads to an ever increasing negative result. Mostly wishful projection to get under scat skin, but funny nonetheless.

Not even in the same league as Dave as a QB and you will not hear many Cats fans argue with that statement. Was he as valuable as Dave was to his team? An argument could be made but damn, Dave was good!

I get it - TM has one hell of a mountain to climb to sniff the 53 in the next couple of years. I don't have time for dipshits who trash a kid citing "data" when the sample size is n=1. Hell, a whole season isn't even enough (see Ah Yat...the kid is still developing and I think everyone shitting on him will be eating crow).

You seem like a relatively intelligent guy (for a bub)

Therefore I trust you understand that the small sample size is not exactly a feather in your guys' cap. Right??

Woah woah woah - don't go too far with the compliments. "Relatively" is giving me far too much credit. Grew up a Griz fan and have degrees from both schools (hence the screen name). Worked at the Davidson Honors College for a bit too. As a native Montanan I love to see Montana boys do well regardless of where they continue their education. Unlike many on here I can admit I did not play the game of football at a high level, do not coach, and do not have personal relationships with the anyone in either athletic departments.

While I root for both teams, I can still use data and be objective about both teams (and their players). To say a small sample size is a predictor of future outcomes is not reality. There are too many factors to consider. The easy thing is to say that you KNOW a guy in his position will fail simply because he was drafted late and is transitioning to WR. Are you likely right? Probably. But don't act like you know for sure or come back and say "I told all of you guys!" like you are some football savant because you are not. Hell, there are people on this board who have forgotten more about the game than you and I will ever know and they will probably be the first people to admit that they have no clue how things will for sure end up with TM...or JB. Maybe skip the low hanging fruit and root for a seemingly great kid who represents our state with class?

I root for both teams
