JJ Trial

I have only been partially paying attention to the trial, and had no idea who Jane Doe was, but it took an entire minute to figure it out once I saw that tweet that her former boyfriend __________ was contacted by the PI.

I agree. This is a little spooky, if you think about it. I have guys I work with that knew her name a week ago, based on this same connection, amongst others on the witness list.

I am really surprised some a-hole hasn’t posted her name on here.

Someone did months ago, but the mods were on fire and deleted it immediately. Was a real shocker to find out her dad was my high school science teacher. Have kept my mouth shut.

A few members of the jury are visibly emotional following Marty's testimony #JohnsonTrial

Marty Johnson's testimony today was very powerful for all that witnessed it. I can't imagine being a father going through this. I admit that I am biased, but from what I saw and heard today, there is NO way JJ is not acquitted. Jane Doe was caught in a big lie today with the omission of her snack after the alleged “event” occurred. The defense’s witnesses today, filled in the pieces to JJ side of the story nicely. The cross of JJ went fairly well in my opinion. The “pinning” of Doe’s arms was a stretch by the Prosecution.

Friday’s deliberation will be quick and just. I fully expect an unanimous decision to acquit. We’ll see…

That's why I'm leaning towards hoping the name never comes out....outta respect for him.

I have a question for you legal minds out there. I seem to remember that Adam Duerk offered his services Pro Bono to the prosecution. Why would an attorney offer free services to the State and especially on a case that has as little merit for the State as this one has proven to have?

Well of course a certain number of pro bono hours are required by the state bar. I expect he knew this was high profile and he would get his name out there. Probably had visions of being a prosecutor someday

Counties meet the requirement so yes on the pro bono.... i think political reasons also were a big reason for him jumping at the opportunity....

There isn't a pro bono requirement. There is a pro bono "suggestion."

Some feel he is a social climber and tries to use the public misery of others to develop a public reputation. I don't know him, he's a new guy to me, but I did have lunch with one of his bosses a couple of weeks ago, and ... I guess it is a mixed picture over there.

This. for political gain, only I hope it backfires on him.

Well, his cross of Jordan did not impress me much.

If Mr. Duerk ever runs for anything, it is my opinion that he should be run out of the county. Needless to say, as an attorney, he should be avoided.

I, too, am hoping for a unanimous acquittal but after watching the O.J. trial I am not holding my breath. As a reformed/retired journalist I have sat through many a civil and criminal court proceeding and have often been surprised by the jury's decision. I truly hope I am not surprised this time. In my opinion this should have never been brought to trial due to the lack of actual evidence and the shaky story of the alleged victim.
There just hasn't been enough information presented by the prosecution to convince 12 people to unanimously convict a young man of a felony rape charge beyond a reasonable doubt. This case is littered with doubt. Two young people's lives, two families, an entire community and all of Griz Nation, have been severely derailed by this entire situation. It's been a mess from the outset, but thankfully we are nearing the end. I hope the jury renders it's decision Friday afternoon and Jordan doesn't have to dangle on a string the entire weekend.

Free attention for him. As I'm sure we all know, lawyers love to get themselves a little bit of attention.

I have a daughter as I am sure many of you on here do. I can understand why certain individuals don't want her name out in public.
This makes absolutely no sense to me. JJ has his name out there for people to support or ridicule him depending whose side they favor. His name and his family have been dragged through the mud. It makes zero sense that this woman gets to hide her identity just for the simple fact that she is a She. You should not be able to hide behind that if you are going to accuse anyone of a crime.
As for protecting her dad, Really, you have to be kidding me.

Why isn't a Duerk's "volunteer" work for the prosecution a fairness issue. A defendant is always going to bear the burden of going up against the the resources of the state. That's a very expensive proposition, which almost assures you're going to be outgunned in a high profile case. Throwing in a free lawyer for the prosecution just seems like piling on.

It will all come out soon enough, eGriz doesn't need to go there.

I will tell you why I think her name should not get out, even though many already know it. There are some, maybe even on this board, that might cause her harm simply because she accused JJ of something. Most would agree it is not worth her getting hurt just to put her name out there. Just my $.02

Any guesses on who the witness will be tomorrow? Seeing the amount of time allotted and it being the defenses last witness, I expect someone pretty high profile. I have always scoffed at the idea that Pflugrad might testify, but I'm not quite as sure now. Maybe?
