JJ Trial

Spokaneman. Out of curiosity what team are you a fan of. You were in a sports bar and visit football message boards so you must be a fan.

I could honestly careless.... I jumped in when classless a-holes began dragging a "possible" victim, her roommates, her friends, her family, and MUCH of the Missoula community thu the mud in an effort to demonize her.

Out of curiousity, does this desire to defend alleged rape victims from demonization on the internet also extend to people who are allegedly raped by men who aren't starting QBs of teams that are rivals to your Eagles?

Since you seem to be criticizing Griz fans for only caring about this case because it involves a Griz QB, I'd be interested to see examples of other cases where you've felt compelled to rush to the defense of women who were being "demonized" on the internet.

Or, are you - much like the Griz fans that you're so quick to criticize - really only interested in this case because it involves a Griz football star?

Listen - if I was going to "criticize" fans of a football team, I would pick one that was better than 3-5 last year...

Having 2 daughters of my own, I was honestly pissed off at the crude, degrading and demeaning manner at which your most prevalent members dismissed and trashed women in general without knowing any of the actual facts...

Show me another site where women are treated as badly as on this site, and I will defend them.. but I will imagine that you will be unsuccessful in finding a site such as this... Which you should all be proud of... I Guess.... :thumb:

I have a daughter too. I would be very very mad at her if she told a guy on friday night that she would do him anytime, pickup him up on saturday, went to her room with him, shut the door, kissed him, took off their shirts together and then...(that is for the jury to decide). But if you think there is no site on the internet worse than this one, then you have not spent much time on the world wide web. Again, I will repeat that there people on both sides of this that are way too emotionally invested in this process. I for one don't care if JJ ever plays for the griz again. In fact, I don't expect him to even if he is found not guilty. I think you are one of those that are too invested in this whole process as well.

Funny you ask this as I was wondering the same thing. He's not a fan of the Griz or the eagles yet some how finds his way to egriz to bash the posters and Griz football in general? Like Jane doe's story, something is not adding up.

Having daughters does not make you an expert on anything, you're right. But it does lend you a bit of persepctive in knowing that all human beings are capable of being liars. All human beings are capable of being criminals. Man, woman, boy, girl, football star, jersey chaser or none of the above - all cannot be categorized as good or demonized as bad. Jordy is quiet, shy, and has good moral character, says his football coach. The alleged victim was emotional, erratic, and inconsistent after the alleged incident. Do any of those statements by people who know both change your mind either way?

My point is that it is as easy to put the alleged victim on trial as it is for her to accuse JJ of rape. She understood the risks and events that would happen after the formal accusation was made. It is easy to accuse someone of rape but with that comes the great weight of being accused of a variety of things that may or may not be true. We've heard lots of them on this board.

I know many are angry that Jordy was accused of this crime and that the alleged victim's story is falling apart in every way possible. But to demonize her, attempt to expose her name, etc, is not going to make things better. It only makes the fan base look like it cares about one thing and one thing only: winning. With Jordy, the Griz won. Without him, they lost. Demonizing the alleged victim will not fix those things. If Jordy is truly innocent, then the trial will fix those things and he will be an innocent man. There is no benefit to calling her "Little Miss Muffett" or a "slut" or "crazy" or anything in between. She will pay the price for this in her own way and it will be severe, without the help of angry Egrizzers. Paoli will be fat, obnoxious and pompous, but he will do his job and he will do it well.

LOL... If you think eGriz is bad... check out 4Chan... that truly might be one of the worst websites on the internet.

While we are on the rape subject, what ever happened to your receiver who was booted from the team last fall for raping a co-ed in the dorm....think she was a volleyball player. Perhaps you didn't follow it closely as he wasn't a star player from a "rival" (ewu fan term, not mine) team.

Mr Bruce was immediately kicked off the team and kicked out of school pending the investigation and trial. School Admin noted that it was best "for the safety of the students on campus" that he not be allowed back in school....

JJ IS CURRENTLY attending UM is that correct?

I will imagine that it is these differing "opinions" between UM and MOST other Universities that the DOJ, NCAA et al are investigating UM....

In interview with detective Johnson breaks down and says he doesn't care about football any more.#johnsontrial

Well I guess we can all stop caring now and stop posting about this trial? Lets hope.

Selfishly, I want him to play again, because he really is a fine QB. But on the other hand, I saw who I assume was his sister crying on a bench outside the courtroom this morning and want them to get over this. If he doesn't play and renounces his scholorship, I am sending them a check, which I can't afford. Our University, City, County, and State has done this family a huge injustice.

My ex father in law asked me when I was 19 how I liked working at Pizza Hut. I said It's ok, but I'm sick of pizza. He said that's exactly why I didn't become a gynecologist.

The policy at Montana that has been vigorously defended by some is to let the legal process play itself out before a student athlete is suspended from play. I find that policy to be a very easy way of getting away from discplining young men for being idiots. Playing college football is not a constitutional right. Attending college is not a constitutional right. Suspending an athlete for getting themselves into those types of situations is how you prevent future ones from doing the same thing. Like, for example: Should I have sex with a crazy person I barely know? Or, should I go to this party after a game and place my hand on a police officer? Or, in Bozeman, should I really get in this fight with a basketball player? Or, should I really sell these weed brownies?

No matter the long, drawn out legal process, those students should be suspended if not dismissed from the team. They chose to put themselves in those situations. They didn't have to be there. They could have been a little more intelligent about it. But they weren't. And due process be damned, it isn't a right to play football!

Maybe I'm just dense or maybe it's because I'm only following the trial via twitter, but I still fail to see how the video interrogation of JJ helps the prosecution. From the tweets, it seems like his story in the interview matches what has been presented by Paoli so far. I believe they are now done with the video (although the detective is still on the stand), and I didn't see any big bombshells. Why did the prosecution show this? So far, it honestly seems like it should be something the defense presented.

You just summed up my entire point... Having 2 daughters, I can only pray to my God that they never have to be faced with the decision of filing rape charges full knowing that the egriz community (or similar) will vilify her for it, or let the guy off and not face the wrath that is Jerry Punch....

All you turds are doing is making it easier for the NEXT REAL RAPIST to continue his work... as what girl in her right mind would subject herself to the ridicule of JBS if she decides to press charges??....

You guys are making it increasingly difficult for 1 in 4 daughters everywhere to stand up and press charges...

Funny...I didn't know the verdict had come back...or are you just taking it upon yourself to be judge, jury and executioner? You know what is a Constitutional right? Trial by jury, not trial by the self appointed.

That is not longer the policy at Montana and rightly so. JJ has been suspended from the team.

Good God, you are the king of hyperbole.

spokaneman and JP - I've got a radical idea for both of you to consider. Let's just assume for a moment that JJ didn't actually do anything wrong, that perhaps he just might be innocent. For sake of argument, let's just call it a presumption of innocence. I know, it's a crazy idea, but if you think about it long enough it may just start making sense and then most if not all of your posts start looking pretty silly when viewed from that radical position.

Just some food for thought for you two and flower girl.

Why are you spending so much time on egriz???
