Jim O'Day; vacating 2011 wins was wrong

poiuyter said:
The ncaa had no proof Manziel was paid.

Oday not manning up and saying that he made a mistake just shows what a real pos he is.

Not true, not true. It's pretty obvious that Manziel was paid. If he hadn't been paid, he and and his school wouldn't have agreed to this.

O'Day manned up for what occurred, which was virtually nothing.

You are the POS.

+1.

you didn't read the article either, huh?

F&*K Off!
Here's how it reads to me, the AD didn't know the definition of "booster". He's the f***[*] AD, if anyone should understand that definition, it's the AD. Of course he's pissed at the administration, the way he attempted to handle discipline was a joke, and administration took notice.

O'Day knows the definition of booster. What's your point? What did he not understand about the definition? O'Day got only minor comment/criticism from the NCAA.

You are a POS, and always have been.

I respect O'Day for taking responsibility in the article. I don't know if comparing it to Manziel was accurate since the only reason Manziel got a half-game suspension is due to lack of evidence and his acceptance of the suspension to move forward. If the NCAA finds anything then he will surely be in much more trouble.

I don't know if I stand alone on this, but having closely watched the Griz over the past 2 decades, I can say the worst thing that has ever happened to the football program was hiring Pflugrad. He brought nothing but problems to the school and program. He tried to run a classy program like things were run in Oregon and realized Nike doesn't cover up his shit like they do for the ducks. Montana is special because of the integrity and character that sets us apart from much of the rest of the country, and Pflugrad jeopardized all of that during his few years at the helm. I, for one, feel that he owes Griz Nation a huge apology for his lack of discipline and control of the program and all the issues that resulted. The negative, national news that the Griz made over the past 5 years is embarrassing and I have never been happier to see someone go.

Why didn't the ncaa investigate for 18 months? They would have gotten more. Answer: the ncaa was afraid of Manziel and AM, and didn't want to take action against a popular Heisman trophy winner.

Pflugrad actually make very few mistakes and didn't bring in problems. Get your facts straight before you make incorrect and dumb posts.

Get the F off the board.

Very good post. Like others have said, it really illustrates RE's lack of a sack.

This. He will roll over and spread his legs for anyone with authority.
How? Because he identified the point where there wouldn't be a postseason ban?

A post-season ban was never considered and never in the cards. UM could have fought the ncaa and ended up with little penalty. Please stop saying such dumb stuff.

Glad those wins were vacated. Cheatwrs shouldn't prosper. Sucks for the team, but the playoffs are stained. Look them up on our organizations website.

There was no cheating and no advantage gained. Giving too many in-home meals to players is cheating? A mom loaning money to bail a kid out of jail is cheating? Do a case on a contingency fee basis is cheating. You are an idiot.

Absolutely mind-blowing that someone could buy into this pile of BS. I love Montana too, but to elevate it as some beacon of moral perfection is just foolish wishful thinking. And as to an apology, if anything its the University that owes an apology to Robin, not vice-versa. Robin was by no means perfect and made his share of mistakes, but Engstrom crucified him and O'Day out of pure panic. No way this whole fiasco goes down like it did if we had a President that had any stones. Sorry to rant, but some people's ignorance absolutely astounds me.

No penalty? Why was the NCAA, DOJ, IRS, and the clowns with the little hats even in town? I forget. Was it the Donaldson rape? You defended that at the beginning. What was it PR?

Again, a post-season ban by the ncaa was never in the cards. Stop being stupid.

The ncaa didn't investigate anything involving rape. Stop being stupid.

The DOJ found absolutely nothing involving the football team.

I did not defend the Donaldson rape.

Yeah, rape wasn't even on the table. Check the headlines at the time, no rape.

Of course, that's not what I said. "I know nothing about the facts, but I know Donaldson and I have doubts that rape occurred or that this will stick." We will see how it turns out.
How'd it turn out? :coffee:

Turned out he raped her.

You are one serious Dipshit. :?

The whole "Investigation" was bullshit just like your comments. Proof is in the complete lack of any substance in their "Official" report.

Griz-o-matic since you like rebranding so much maybe you should rebrand yourself another College team to supposedly like and spout off your mentally challenged comments about that team. Im sure Montana State would love to have a Transgender of your Caliber on their cheer squad.

To BWs original post on Odays comments,

Yes the whole vacating anything was bullshit. There was no real offense of any actual substance supposedly commited by the UM football department or Athletic department in any way. (Other than Hot Dog Gate)

The entire witch-hunt was, is and always will be bullshit. That's a fact!

But thats in the past onward to the future..... Go Griz! :thumb:

If an untrue statement is made about someone on an internet forum, and the fact that it is untrue is called to the attention of the forum, the forum must remove it or it will be subject to liability. There is a federal statute on it. Also, it is illegal to defame someone, whether on the internet or elsewhere.

Wow, 5 consecutive attack posts. A couple of them total untruths. A person cannot be a POS, therefore anyone who has been called such can request that egriz remove such posts according to this guy. And of course more defamation's by the same character. Time to ban him. If others had done same thing, they'd be long gone.

Jim needs to STFU

UM doesn't need this to keep being brought up again and again, its over, time to take the punishment and move on.

"Not only are the trophies gone, but the conference championship and playoff listings have been removed from the trophy case windows as well. Instead, it is glaring and grim reminder that according to the records, the last Griz conference football championship and playoff appearance was in 2009."

Well, after 2013 is slapped up on the glass, it will feel much better.

Were the investigations of Montana and Manziel the same in terms of length? Further, does the length of an investigation have an impact on the likelihood of finding evidence of something?

+1. UM needs to move on and it is time for O'Day to move on. We have a new AD and the program is back on the rise and as unfortunate a situation it is for Jim, he is not getting his job back. If he is such a good AD, then he should find a job at a different University and start over.

Pflu is indeed owed an apology. But not from the University. He was let down by JOD. Gametime is right if JOD was as great as some believe, given the success of Montana's programs, He would have been snapped up in a minute. If nothing else by the conference or NCAA.

JOD is working hard to salvage his reputation and his future. He's a great guy but he is not a "manager" (that's what lack of institutional control is about) It was inevitable the ship would run aground. as much as I was not a Bobby fan, the fact is were he not the strong personality he was, it would have happened much sooner than it did. You can not run an athletic department on autopilot. This outcome sadly was predicted by many of us when JOD was hired.

He has been hired as a "consultant" which is a polite way of saying they are renting JOD to mine his contacts. That is at best a temporary position. I am hoping that when the lease is up on him, he will have enough water under the bridge, that someone somewhere in college athletics will be able to use his talents and personality.

Small point PR and just curious, how do you take a criminal case on a contingency?

When you think the acts of the police rise to the level of a civil rights/battery claim. You do the criminal case for free to get a dismissal or acquittal, then you have the civil rights/battery claim on a contingency. Happens all the time. True.
