Oh well if u were told something i guess it must be true then. My god u talk out of your ass alot. To suggest this was a motivated by race without any real proof is just ridicoulous. Maybe read the affadavit of probable cause. But even if someone is called a derogatory term that does not give an individual the right to assault someone. To wrongs do not make a right. I bet when Greg Coleman was arrested u probably said it was all a big misunderstanding.

Nope. My source is without reproach. Actually, sources. Consider high up in AD. My god, you spout off about stuff you know nothing about. Why? You obviously don't have a clue. Ask around. Want to bet $100 on this?

I said nothing about this excusing anyone or anything. I just said what I was told occurred.

Jump to conclusions much?

How about $500? That was the amount you threw out at me last time you spouted off about something you knew absolutely nothing about!

Old Chuck Rhoades...the white guy who never lettered for Griz Basketball and definitely isn't the now deceased black guy Zip Rhoades...who starred for Griz hoops back in the '50s.....

Still waiting......

This concerns me. Not welching on a bet, thats a given. It just seems strange that at a time when the Board of Reagents are fighting hard to maintain student confidentiality, that "Highup" source in the AD would choose to share not publically available information about a student with a known blabbermouth.

This has nothing to do with student confidentiality or privacy laws.

Are you seriously trying to associate student privacy in a university sexual assault proceeding and related decisions by the university and MT higher ed, with what someone said in a fight downtown. Jeez, lots of people have heard what was said downtown.

Wasn’t he already sanctioned by the student code of conduct? I would think this doesn’t really change anything. He should still be eligible to play regardless of the latest criminal charge whatever the final outcome which could even be a negotiated plea agreement. I think the only thing that could stop him from playing this season is how chapped Bobby’s ass is by the whole fiasco. Lol.

Bobby is under a microscope that any other new coach wouldn't be under thanks to the misguided and factually inaccurate petition and subsequent brouhaha. I have no personal knowledge of how chapped his hindparts are, but it's reasonable to assume that they are plenty irritated.

Let it go GRIZ fans. IF he is convicted on the "charge" and IF, there was the "N" word and IF,,, blah, blah. Kid should not be in bars at 0130 hrs anyway if he is representing the University on a scholarship. And he darn sure better know how to walk away from fights. Bobby should take him off the team as an example to the team, the school and the community by way of expressing his new way of handling the things that have haunted him in the past. Nut up, can him and move on. We will have a running game without him.

Do you really think that UM athletes or athletes of any school aren't in or near bars at 1:30am in the offseason, especially the spring or summer for athletes in fall sports? Go downtown to Stocks or Mo Club on virtually any weekend night, and count the athletes there.

I don't disagree with you on athletes making better choices. And staying away from fights.

When the fairly tough Code of Conduct spells out a 10% of games, or 2 game, suspension, it wouldn't seem right to me for someone to get kicked off the team. Why even have a code of conduct if the school/coach doesn't generally follow it.

The representing the university argument drives me nuts. Why/how is an athlete in a bar representing the university? I just don't understand why athletes are held to higher standards than students generally. What's so special about athletes?

We don't need him. Our O-line can't open any holes for him to run through, so no big loss.

Oh we need him desperately....but you’re right it wouldn’t have much impact I don’t think over the lack of running lanes. Although I think he has better vision and cut ability.

What good does vision play when the only thing he sees is the ass-end of his blockers?

From my limited football knowledge, it seemed to me that there were opportunities on the outside on several running plays last weekend, and if I remember correctly Jeremy is better at keeping moving and bouncing to the outside and/or making something out of nothing than Eastwood seems to be. But I could be wrong...I never played the game.

This headline story of the Missoulian online. I had no idea this was such an important topic. Thought the 10 million people in the path of the strong hurricane, or even Trump and the US economy or the US election, might have been more important.

I suppose those other topics were just for the Independent, which, as you may have seen, was closed by the Missoulian this week.

Just looked up the author of the story. Interesting name. From his website. He's also a line cook at Sean Kelly's.

Okay. $500 that Calhoun was given the N word during this incident. Put up or shut up.

Different subject Mr. Know It All and you know it! Old white "Chuck Rhodes"...you know the guy whose son you know very well and used to play fat man city league hoops with...the same "Chuck Rhodes" who you bet me $500 played for the Griz bball team in the '50s.

.....but on further review you were blowing smoke. Old white "Chuck Rhodes" apparently never did letter for the Griz bball team. (Black) Rudolph "Zip" Rhoades (different spelling) in fact did star for the Griz bball team in the 1950's. His name throughout Griz media books...the same Griz media books that have records of basketball letter winners going back quite a ways (the '50s) where there is no "Chuck Rhodes" listed. HA!!

I sure hate to change the subject of this thread but hoping some on here see you for the blow hard you are. I did the research to confirm you didn't have a clue...and you quietly went away....never to be hear from (or pay the bet!) on the subject again.

Put up or shut up!

Put up or shut up.

Well you see, some RBs have the ability to see the pile up in front of them and make a jump cut into a different gap or bounce it outside. I think Jeremy has shown flashes of that. Even you know this Growler.

Okay, so you are afraid to bet me on the Calhoun thing? Right?

The prior question was not whether Rhodes "lettered" for the UM. It was whether he played for UM in any year. I need to visit the athletic office to do some research and/or check some old Kaimins. Still think I'm right.

I don't recall ever actually making this bet with you, but please give me that language where the bet got made with you if I did. Feel free to PM it, and the link, if you want.

I got lost reading all the back and forth crap....can someone answer this. Did he or didn't he get in some level of legal trouble after he already had been in the fight? If so is that a second offense in code of cobduct? If so were the 2 games suspension to cover both events/issues?

Really? Really?!? Come on man....I love the Griz as much as anyone else, but that's ridiculous. Ask any coach and they will tell you it is a privilege to play college sports, regardless of the sport. You add in that it's football (you know, the most popular sport in America) and it's easy to see how these young men represent the universities they play for. It's a bad look for the student athlete, football team, athletic department, and the university when this happens. To deny you don't understand why they are held to different standards, or what is "so special" about them is either ill-informed at best, or willfully ignorant. You pick which best fits you, counsellor.

Honestly with his concussion history this may be a blessing in disguise physically. Also it may be a huge wake up call for him as a young man. Atone for his mistakes, rest his body, finish his senior year strong with his brother.

And with a more experienced O-line!

All around might be the best for him, and hopefully humbling and a life-lesson learned from the position he's put himself in.

Do the kids have a choice in this or is it more of a coaching staff decision though? Meaning maybe Jeremy has no say in the matter?

No clue
If he doesn't play it's a redshirt. 5 years to play 4. But the University is not obligated to provide scholarship coverage for 5 years. It would have to be offered by the AD.

Lucky for you don't think a bet was made. As to the "Calhoun thing" you may be right...I wasn't questioning whether you were or not. Something was probably said....that's how fights usually start.

Go check some old "Hymens" and report back on old Chuck.......it's been over 6 months.

Yep the tweets are interesting. Initially it was Justin fighting with Dominique Bobo (track athlete I beleive) and Jeremy jumped in to help break it up he claimed and then the victim (no idea who) pulled Jeremy out and Jeremy hit him twice and knocked out his two front teeth. Victim admits to swinging back as well in self defense.

This was supposed to be a quick plead guilty hearing and go on the merry way but it’s turned into a bit more now with self defense claims from both sides and video surveillance reviews.
