Delaney confirmed Tuesday that Jake Wiley has joined the football team. The 6-foot-6 California native quit the UM basketball team earlier this month and he is concentrating on the wide receiver position, targeting 2014.
Presumably sophomore. He played one year of hoops for the Griz and did not use a redshirt year.GRIZFAN20 said:Anyone know what year of eligibility he will be next season?
I suspect he wanted to get a jump on practicing football. He may really be a player. His high school football credentials and athleticism are impressive.alabamagrizzly said:Not sure why he couldn't play bball thus year. I guess he knew he wasn't comin back and wanted to focus on school and football
Yeah its too bad about basketball but I'm really excited to see what he can do in football.Geddes said:Kinda disappointed that he isn't playing hoops too, but the prospect of throwing him jump balls in the end-zone is sweet. The guy has some serious springs.

To add fuel to the fire he has actual experience playing football and understands the game where as some those guys previously mentioned never even put on pads or played before. He has a really bright future if he can put it all together and he is quick and can jump out of the gym!
