I am not defending him in this instance, but name any sports commissioner that actually played. I can't think any NFL/MLB/NHL or NBA Commissioner that actually ever played in their respective leagues.

It was an attempt at a joke….as a response to PR’s initial post….a poster who constantly asks or accuses other posters of “not having played the game”….I’ll try and to better.
