thirdandlong said:Talked yesterday with a starting player from the 1995 National Championship team, who attended the team reunion. He said that there was much discussion among the players from that team about Hauck, and the direction of our program. And, the consensus, according to him, was that Hauck's personality is not playing well with kids today. He belittles players and plays the tough-guy role, and they don't respond to that stuff these days. He will never change, because that is his personality. Also, the aged coaching staff is not relating to 18-20 year-old kids, and it is effecting recruiting.
These are some of the very points I have been making about our coaching staff. We need a totally new direction, with creative, energetic younger coaches, who understand football in 2023, instead of trying to coach football the way it was 20 years ago.
Just being the messenger, and providing a reality check from former Griz players who PLAYED THE GAME!
I know multiple current players and have met some of their friends. They like Bobby and have a lot of respect for him. They like how he treats and loves the team.
