However, acting like it's crazy that an african american would consider academics when choosing a college is very racist. It was an asinine comment that didn't warrant a response and you can defend it all you want.

For full disclosure, to answer the asinine question that hunt-ducks posed, I most CERTAINLY think that gasp, even african american kids from Cali and Washington, has academics as one of his top priorities when choosing a school to play football.

Lots of kids, black, white and other that go to college for all sorts of reasons. Some for an education. Some for other reasons.

What could the purpose possibly have been, to ask if African Americans specifically, would pick a school based on academics? VERY curious your thoughts on that. Seems very odd to pick one race when posing this question. Obviously not to you, but it struck me as odd. Why the need to single out one single race when posing a question about education?

It was very odd to me as I know lots of former players, even African American players, that based their decision on a school based and academics. Maybe you and hunt ducks haven’t had that experience or even knew it was possible.

I just haven’t seen a specific race singled out when discussing kids who wouldn’t pick a college based on academics. Not that I’m surprised it was hunt ducks that did so. Was a little more surprised it was defended. :?

Gotta love that "African American" part also... I lived in Virginia, 90 percent Black. In my first week, I asked a group of people I worked with if they preferred "African American" or "Black"... The first guy said "I prefer Leroy, but I have never been to Africa, my Pops never been to Africa and my Granddaddy never been to Africa. My Ass is Black".

Maybe you should just ignore your tender feelings that might not even exist to them. Maybe they could care less. Maybe they would be offended.

If someone called me a "Powder Honkie", I would probably laugh because I don't have tender feelings about every little thing.
