Well YOU’RE the one who chimed in. I didn’t quote you. You quoted me so I assumed you had an opinion. You shared yours, as have i, so I asked you the question.

Just seems real odd anyone would randomly select a race and act like it was crazy-talk they’d pick a school based on academics. Like I said, it’s not off to you and that’s ok. It was very odd to me as I know lots of former players, even African American players, that based their decision on a school based and academics. Maybe you and hunt ducks haven’t had that experience or even knew it was possible.

I’m here to say it’s very possible and happens all the time. :thumb:

Ok, since you "know" lots of former "African American" players, ask them if they think it's racist. Have you run it by them? Didn't think so. They would probably be more questioning of a Wokester White guy with Tender feelings tip toeing around the subject like they are made of glass.

Gotta love that "African American" part also... I lived in Virginia, 90 percent Black. In my first week, I asked a group of people I worked with if they preferred "African American" or "Black"... The first guy said "I prefer Leroy, but I have never been to Africa, my Pops never been to Africa and my Granddaddy never been to Africa. My Ass is Black".

Maybe you should just ignore your tender feelings that might not even exist to them. Maybe they could care less. Maybe they would be offended.

If someone called me a "Powder Honkie", I would probably laugh because I don't have tender feelings about every little thing.

Again, Hunt can defend himself, but nothing he said would assign him a White Hood.

Man all sorts of assumptions here. You don’t know my race or who I’ve talked to.

Like I’ve said in the beginning, if you don’t think “black people don’t pick schools because of academics” (because that’s what he was saying) comes across as racist, ( you know because he specified a race) that’s ok. I wasn’t trying to change your mind. You’re the one who chimed in.

As stated, if I’m “woke” because I don’t think it’s surprising at all that black kids choose schools because of academics, I’m fine with that title.

Even back in my college student days -- a long time ago -- athletes knew their chances of landing an NFL contract were slim (to say the least). I'd say that some were actually better at picking majors (that might lead to a real job) than many students who just drifted along. I recall one (wish I could dredge up his name ... he was mixed Black-Hispanic) who had offers from UCLA and at least one Ivy, but came to SJSU specifically because he wanted to major in Criminal Justice. (Location certainly played a role because he was from Sacramento.) Memory is dim after a half-century, but I believe he did play a few games as a guard in the NFL. I'm told, with no confirmation, that he later became a parole officer in Sacramento.

I asked if you ran it by them, no answer means you didn't.

Everything you have been complaining about has nothing to do with race, it has to do with the thoughts of groups. I was waiting for you to figure that out on your own, but you didn't, seeing as you are a Wokester and it's drilled into your head that people behave and believe the exact same based on race, I.E. every Black person would be offended by the thought of them going to College for athletics.

I bet a bunch of them would think your question was either ridiculous or too boring to even respond to.

If you watch opposing news, one side will have Blacks arguing for one thing, while the other news will have Blacks arguing for the polar opposite. Same with Whites and Latinos etc. They have brains, capable of independent thought, and maybe someday when you are capable of independent thought and aren't automatically a Sensitive Wokester on every little thing, you will realize that.

If you are Black and offended, I apologize about the subject, not the Woke part.

Some Blacks wouldn't be offended.

I asked you a question too. No answer means……

I don’t get offended easily. And I wasn’t today. Doesn’t mean I won’t call out absurd comments.

So I’ll ask again. Why wouldn’t black athletes picking a college prioritize academics? And again, I only used black kids because HD used black kids.

This thread makes me sad.

What are everyone’s Top 5 pizza chains? We’re talking garbage pizza here. Obviously we all like our local spots that make it fresh, but sometimes you have to eat the trash. I’ll start:

1. Domino’s. Laugh all you want, but sometimes, I just want Domino’s. I liked it more before the whole revamp 10-ish years ago, but it’s still a staple. And it’s there in a pinch.

2. Pizza Hut. It’s pure garbage food. But, when they get those pepperonis dried out just right, it reminds me of the BEST nights growing up. Your bros are spending the night, you have the SNES lined up with a few games rented, mom bought a 2L of root beer, it was gonna be a rager. Nostalgia gets it the 2 spot.

3. Papa John’s. Always one that you don’t know if it’s good or gross. Then, the totally redeem themselves with the garlic butter dipping sauce that seeps out of your pores for three days.

4. Little Caesar’s. Pizza Pizza. Trash pizza, but the $5 pies mom would pick up on the way home from baseball practice because she forgot to put something in the crock pot before she left for work that morning were a welcome treat.

5. Godfather’s. Idk if it’s even open anymore, but that place was the bomb when mom and dad were going to the Elk’s Club later. The pizza was meh, and self-serve, but so were the dessert pizzas. To go. Brown sugar and frosting on a pre-made crust out of the fridge later before the parents got home? Yep.

Godfather’s was awesome. I miss that place. We always got Dominos on Tuesday nights when I lived in Miller Hall back in the early 90s. I think they had $5 Tuesdays. Wife still grabs a few $5 Little Caesars for our boys when we don’t feel like cooking. Pizza Hut, about the only close option here in Lolo and still can’t believe it hasn’t killed me from the grease overdoses.

Give it up. You can't talk logic to a person who gets their "intelligence", from people like Morning Joke, Rachael Mad-Cow, Whoopi-Cushion Goldberg, or Joyless "Bay-of-Pigs" Behar. The race card is more over-played than Jingle Bells at Christmas. It's their "get outta jail FREE" card. As for me, I am now done with this topic, and this Cat fan can stick it where the sun doesn't shine.

Oh alright. This is definitely weighted by nostalgia though.

1. Godfather’s
2. Papa John’s. Got hooked on it during my brief stay at the University of Louisville
3. Domino’s
4. Pizza Hut
5. Little Caesars. A little to cardboardy for me, although I do like their breadsticks.

For sure. I remember the round fire pit in the middle of the Missoula GFs. Now that building is a KFC. I also remember as a young kid growing up in Lincoln Montana, my Dad would let us eat at the Helena GFs as a treat on rare shopping trips to Helena.

Now that my memory got dusted off, I think I may have merged memories of Godfather’s with Little Big Man’s Pizza. In fact, they may have occupied the same location in Helena at different times of course? So I guess my #1 is Godfather’s/Little Big Man’s. :)

Well yeah, if that's his choice in "News", then it's almost 90 percent we would never talk any sense into him. There's a lot of Black people that have seen the Democrat plantation they are supposed to be on and said "No thanks". The biggest head scratcher is all these Black Democrat voters look at all the White members of Congress like Pelosi and Schumer and Biden as "leaders", but they are the biggest racists of all. The Democrats started the KKK!

Both Biden's have said cringe worthy DEEP RACIST comments, with Joe's Corn Pop and 7-11 comments as well as calling Blacks "Predators", and Hillary calling them "Super Predators"... Hunter's texts drop the N bomb repeatedly... Joe's bestie was the Grand Master of the KKK, Robert Byrd.

On and on and on...

Dominos gives me the shits. I'd bet I haven't had it in 20+ years. Not a huge fan of Papa Johns neither.....If I had to rank them in some sort of order, I'd go

1) Pizza Hut
2) Little Seizures
3) Godfathers
4) PJ's
5) Dominos

I only didn't include LBM because I was certain that wasn't a "chain"....I thought they were only in Missoula...

Side note: Does anyone have Jets Pizza where they live? That pizza is freaking phenomenal, but it might be a San Antonio or TX thing....

One more comment before ending this ridiculous discussion about racism. It is so revealing that our own egriz "Squad", much like the AOC/Ilhan Omar Squad of the progressive Democrat party, stick together in their woke-ness. It should not escape anyone on this site that CDA, Everett, Ursa, and grizzallies (sp) quickly jump-on the bandwagon with a woke Bobcat fan to take an innocuous post made by me, put their woke spin to it to accuse me of "insinuating", or "suggesting" (their words), that my comment meant that I believe that African American kids are somehow different than white kids in what is most important in deciding which football offer to accept. These posters will spend pages acting like children bantering with Bobcat posters about which team has the worst fans, then quickly join-in with that Bobcat fan when the PC police are needed for any post they feel the need to "educate all of us" on. Looks like woke-ness transcends team loyalty with these guys. While I never actually stated what they have embellished in their accusations, being the woke individuals that they are, they feel free to analyze what I was THINKING when I wrote that comment, then accuse me of being a racist because of their opinion of what I must have been insinuating. They don't know me, they have never met me, but they know my heart. Just ask them. I am a racist, according to them, because they analyzed what I must-have-been thinking when I made that post. It matters not to them what reality is, only what they determine it to be.

They must not know that my wife and I are good friends for many years with Marcus Bowen and his wife Patricia, both African Americans. Marcus started at CB for the Griz in 1989-90 on the Tim Hauck teams. He played for Montana in their first playoff game in Statesboro, GA, when we lost to Georgia Southern. Marcus was a frequent member of our golfing 4-some for many years, before moving to Scottsdale.

You see, this is the play-book of the woke left today. They lie-in-wait for any comment, no matter how innocuous, to judge what the true hidden intent of the individual making the comment. They insert their "analysis" of what was really meant by the author, then accuse the author of racism with the comment, then go the additional step of labeling that individual a racist in his/her everyday life. And finally, they complete the tri-fecta by demanding that the individual be banished and "cancelled" from any further comment. This is their mantra.

But they have over-played their hand, and Americans are now reacting in unison against this woke cancel-culture. The recent elections in Virginia and New Jersey are a statement that America is SICK OF THIS DIVISIVE B.S.! The 2020 elections will be the nail in their woke coffin, as we take back our country from these lunatics!

Just know who they are as posters on our board. They can no longer hide behind their keyboards. They hate America. They hate capitalism. They believe in indoctrinating our kids with Critical Race Theory. They work to divide Americans based upon skin color.

There was definitely one in Helena and Missoula. Not sure about any other locations in Montana. I agree, not sure 2 would qualify as a chain, but it was it least fun to recall good memories of the place. No Jets Pizza up this way that I’m aware of anyway.

You're overthinking it HD.

I just found it crazy you'd single out African-Americans specifically when suggesting academics wouldn't be a top priority when selecting a college. You didn't say kids, highschoolers, people, whites, prospective college students, football players, athletes, etc. I still would have disagreed with you as I know firsthand many kids who made academics a top priority when picking a college. Of all races.

I was just surprised you don't think black kids from places like California and Washington consider academics. It's fine to disagree. You got Cuervohola on your side too. I just disagree.

You ASSUMED that I must have a racist basis for making that post, when none existed. And I believe you called me a racist.
