First worn by a player on offense.Teton Cat said:Speaking of foresight there may come a time when NOBODY will be wearing the coveted #37....which goes to the outstanding/inspirational Montana bred defensive player.....there are only three players that qualify in '13......Wagenman,Tripp, and Kidder......and Tripp and Wagenman will be gone after next year.....this is way down from the Utterback, Anderson era when over half the defensive starters were from Montana.

spend half their time in California who honestly believes the Griz could ever be competitive (even in a
so-so BSC) with a roster made up mostly of good ol' home grown boys? Get real...

Who said that Tip??? Reading comprehension not your strong point, I see.
Hammer said:Part of the reason this state loves the Grizzlies is due to the amount of home grown boys who play for them. Out of staters/transplants will never get it, but the fact is native Montanans connect more with Montana kids playing for the Griz than kids from out of state. My favorite players every year are the Montana kids. I don't think I'm alone there. Both our NC teams were built heavily with Montana kids. Now I realize it's different now and to remain competitive at this level we have to recruit heavily out of state. I'm fine with that, as another poster said once they put on the uniform they are Griz and I'll be their biggest fan. But the players that are and have been my favs are the boys from Montana and i hope we always have room for a few on our MONTANA team! Go Griz, wherever your from!

You directly contradict yourself in that bolded sentence, Hammer.
I think it's amazing how the Griz that end up in the pros in recent years have been mostly Montana players (with the exception of Tru & Wilson & McSurdy), but honestly once they're ON the team I really don't care nor think about WHERE they're from. I'm just a big of fan of the above three as I am of Anderson, Carps, Hilliard, Harris, Biermann, etc. I'm just as big of a fan of Poehls, Kistler, Canada, Hermanson, etc as I am of Kidder, Harris, Bienneman, and the other "Montana" players.
I think the issue should be less about how MANY Montana players there are on the team and more about ensuring we get the BEST Montana talent each year. This year, I think anyone who looked at it honestly would say that the 'scats beat us for the best talent in the state. That can't happen.

My favorite GRIZ to watch the last 2 years have been Tru and Dan Moore. Dan Moore would have been the perfect 37, if had been from Montana.

You mean the guys that have 4,634 yards of offense, 40 TDs, and have beat you 2 out of 3 times? Yeah, those guys.stubbins said:I know the running back, heard about him, but have only seen him rush for about 80 yards in two games that I have attended. Don't have a clue who the skinny dude is in the top picture.
Was the question "Most overrated running back in big sky history is.....?" or "Can you find a picture of some dude that nobody knows....?"
