Ifanse is hurt

Impressed by the overall class shown on the board. Honestly some good dudes over here.

I think both offenses struggle, the team that can sustain drives and avoid three and outs/ turnovers wins. I also expect both fan bases will get to experience a great game and atmosphere next week.

Prepare for Ifanse (as best we can). Mellott is a very quick and very smart guy - he can run (and he can throw). We will have our hands full. Our defense will do it’s job. I’m more worried about offensive production. Northern AZ made our ground game look pretty paltry. MSU will be a much better defense.

NAU had 8 and sometimes 9 in the box. No one runs on that unless they break a tackle of 2 at the LOS, then they can run forever. It took a couple series to adjust and then start throwing almost every play, it was what NAU had to do to try and win.

Mellott hopefully when he is in the game UM has a Linebacker spying him at all times, he is not a Big Sky caliber throwing QB yet.

Well if the ‘scat O struggles, it’ll be a welcome change of pace from the past couple of years…

I watched bits and pieces of the cat game today and they suffered some potentially big injuries.

1. starting QB left with an apparent injury or possibly due to being ineffective but didn’t play again
2. Ifanse left and didn’t return
3. 2nd string RB left and was the one shown on the sidelines. He is super fast and electric with the ball.
4. Starting Right Tackle left with what appeared to be a bad leg injury.
5. Backup LB #30 ejected in 2nd half due to targeting and will miss first half against Griz.

I was at cat game. Did not see Ifanse get hurt but noticed his absence. He was running well as he always does then he was gone. Initially thought they might be saving him for Griz game. However without him (and the 2nd string dude) the cat offense was doing nothing.

I believe this is why they pulled their QB McKay. The backup QB Tommy Merlot is their next best running back. Kid plays the Troy Andersen roll running it up the middle. McKay is the better QB but the cats needed a running game. If Ifanse & Elliot are really injured next weeks game will be first team to 10 wins

I’d guess no Ifanse costs Cats +/- 7. I think we’re going to see a lot of Tommy left, right, and middle. Mccuthcheon is their best WR and McKay has power to throw a deep out and downfield. They still have enough firepower to win.
Got to be pessimistic given recent years but I got the feeling we’re gonna want to start printing #11 jerseys after this one, and a new streak will be born.

Cat coach Vig says in the postgame interview that “none of the injuries are season ending”. Of course that could simply mean the Bobcat season continues whilst the injured bobcats wait on life support for crucial organ transplants, or, it could just mean that they pulled Ifanse once he got a slight cramp in his pinky toe just to make sure he’s 100 percent for the Griz. Either way, the Cars will be sure to use Mellott at QB (remember in true Cat identity crisis fashion they recruited him as a safety?). Mellott is fast, like a bigger-sized Sulser, so we need to put a spy on him. The Griz offense simply has to sustain some drives and TOP. Our defense will be fine if they get a rest now and then.

I think Coach Vigen has taken a page out of Bobby's Injury playbook? WHO ARE THE REAL INJURED!

Ifanse was dominating in the first half but didn’t return in the second even when the cats had their backs against the wall. I don’t for one second believe Vigen was holding him back for next week’s game. That said, he could still be playing after a week of healing. The ironic thing is the cats appear to have the same injury issues now that the Griz have had the majority of the season. The Griz appear to be healing up a bit, however.

Word is that they don’t think it’s too serious of a knee injury maybe just a sprain but is getting an MRI today.

Thanks, hope he's OK, hope he plays on Saturday, these kids work their tails off all year, everyone deserves the opportunity to play.

According to the Bozeman paper the lineman was seen in a walking boot. Ifanse was in street clothes, the second half. Sounds like the lineman and the Qb got tangled up and then the Qb mightve taken a hard hit?

if true - will limit this week's practice preparation

This sucks; sorry to hear it. Worst part is I think it’s on the coaches.

I would be pissed at the coaches if I were a Flubbercat fan. The end of that half made no sense. They forced extra carries on #22 for no reason and incredibly called a time out before that disastrous last play which had no chance.

They basically lost their most important players on O (RB, OT and QB) in back-to-back—meaningless!—plays.

If you’re going to run out the half, just take a knee.

If you’re going to set up a hail marry, then do that.

They didn’t know if they were coming or going.

Coach Vegan commented about it during the halftime chat and almost showed emotion.

I have no doubt Ifanse will be ready Saturday. He's as tough as they come, but he hasn't played against a defense this good.

Weber is a good if not better defense. So yeah he has played against one.
Really? Are they this good? National FCS stats:

Rushing Defense: Griz are #3 at 73.0 Yards per Game.
Scoring Defense: #5 at 13.3 Points per Game.
Sacks: #5 with 35, causing 248 yards in losses to the opponent.

Defensive TDs: Tied for #2 at 4 (one fumble scoop and score, and 3 pick sixes.)
Passes Intercepted: Tied for #1 with 17. Justin Ford’s 8 interceptions leads all of the FCS.

Buschini is #3 in punting average at 46.51 yards … just 0.25 yards out of #1. He has punted 53 times. Between his good hang time (leading to many fair catches) and the UM coverage, opponents have only 49 yards total in punt returns.

Are you suggesting Coach Sixx might be some type of cyborg?

Would Waded and Elvis be that diabolical just to beat the Griz at football?

“Since you are our 6th choice to fill the head football coach position, we are willing to give you the job if you are willing to consent to a small procedure. Just sign this form and follow Mr. Costello to the basement of South Hedges. Oh, and what is your blood type?”

I still think the Cats run for 250+.
No they will not! That’s a ridiculous statement. If Ifanse is out, they’re down their top 2 RB’s on Saturday. We’ve got the best run D in the conference. There’s no way that without Ifanse, they go over 250. Hell even if he does play, I don’t see them running the ball over us like past years. But it’s not gonna matter cause I talked to a cat player this morning who told me Ifanse is fine, and they just held him out for precaution.

So 220 then?
